Rather than being located in a central office or workspace, team members are spread across different regions, cities, or even countries and may work from home offices, co-working spaces, or other remote locations.

Distributed teams rely heavily on technology and collaboration tools to stay connected such as email, instant messaging platforms, video conferencing, and project management software, to facilitate communication, organise tasks, and share information.
