Tech for good

Smarter Technology for Women.

We're Elvie. We create smart products, new solutions, and a fair few taboo-busting conversations while we’re at it. Founded by Tania Boler in 2013, we develop extraordinary innovations designed to improve women’s lives. It's a fascinating and challenging area that requires us to solve problems that no one else has ever tackled before.

At Elvie, you’ll be surrounded by people who want to improve everything and everyone around them. People who are passionate about our mission. People who are driven to solve problems and constantly consider the best ways to improve the health and wellbeing of women.

The Elvie culture is entirely unique, distinguished by an uncommon blend of courtesy, curiosity, and intellectual energy:

  • We make an impact: We’re mission-driven and not afraid to break boundaries. We relentlessly focus on going the extra mile to solve problems.
  • We are fearless innovators: We are passionate, curious, and data-driven. We continuously embrace change and innovation.
  • We are in it together: we fail and learn fast, always as one team, and have fun along the way. We stay authentic and embrace our differences.

What employees are saying

"The culture here is so respectful of its employees and I've never been made to feel guilty for having out-of-work commitments (children, appointments etc). Parental leave is great, holiday is great, as well as working from home allowances and personal development. I feel like I've won the lottery and can't believe that I'm actually paid to do this."

About us

Founded by Tania Boler in 2013, Elvie has been improving women's lives through better and smarter technology ever since. We develop innovations that meet the unique needs and complexities of the female body so that women can take charge of their health across every life stage.

Our first product, Elvie Trainer, is a multi-award-winning device bringing hospital-grade pelvic floor care to the hands of women everywhere. We're proud to say that Elvie Trainer is part of the NHS Supply Chain in the UK. Our second innovation was Elvie Pump, the silent, wearable breast pump, enabling women to pump wherever they please — even the catwalk at London Fashion Week.

We've since expanded our breastfeeding range, including manual solutions, Elvie Curve and Elvie Catch, and more recently, the ultra-quiet electric breast pump, Elvie Stride. Launched through insurance, Elvie Stride is worn under clothing, so mothers can discreetly express wherever the day may take them.

As a business, Elvie has received more than 30 awards (including TIME Magazine’s Top 100 Inventions 2019 and 2021). We’re ranked as one of the 15 startups ‘To Watch’ by The Sunday Times and Business Insider, and the fastest-growing privately owned femtech company in the Deloitte Fast 50 Awards. Our founder and CEO, Tania Boler, is regularly profiled in top-tier media titles, and, in 2021, Tania was named GLAMOUR’s Women of the Year: Technology Gamechanger.

In July 2021, Elvie announced an $80 million Series C funding, the number one position and biggest raise in an initial fundraising round in the femtech category.

Flexible working at Elvie

At Elvie, we're incredibly dedicated to being a flexible place to work. We have a flexible environment –our culture is built on trust and autonomy. We have offices in Bristol, London (which is dog friendly!), as well as a team in the USA, but it's the norm for staff to regularly work from home. We also offer a host of other benefits, including flexible hours, company share options, enhanced parental leave, and we're also open to part-time employees too! We also recently added life leave, which we explain in more detail here.

Approach to diversity & inclusion

At Elvie, we believe having diverse teams in which everyone can be their authentic self is key to our success. We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply, and we don't discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, marital status, disability, or age.

We consider our roles on a flexible or part-time hour basis, and we’re open to discussions about location and home working options.

We are also a member of the UK Tech Talent Charter, and are proud to have been accredited by Flexa as a truly flexible employer. If you need any support with your application, please get in contact with us: elvie@jobs.workablemail.com.

What do we think of Elvie?

I am so happy to have Elvie on Flexa, not least because they are a truly flexible company striving for an inclusive and diverse workforce, but also because they are making a real difference in the world. Elvie's success so far, in terms of funding, awards, recognition, and sales of their brilliant products, shows how desperately innovation was needed in the women's health and wellbeing space.
