About us
Mind Foundry was created to increase access to AI that can radically transform our world for good.
Our technology has been used to solve problems when no other solution was available. We’ve calibrated qubits in a quantum computer. We’ve created models that can tell you if a mosquito buzzing by your phone is a carrier for malaria. We’ve built workflows that monitor complex inflight propulsion systems.
Today, our customers use it for everything from detecting fraud costing businesses millions of dollars to collaborative intelligence processing, empowering teams to make the ethical decisions they care about and help to transform society for the better.
What it's like to work at Mind Foundry;
We are growing! And fast! So be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into this next phase of growth. Consistency and an eye on the long-term are going to be incredibly important for us as we scale - so you’ve got to have a long lens, as well as be able to prioritise things for the short-term.
We are autonomous! You are a member of a team – but you will have responsibility from Day 1. As the team expands, we’re going to need to evolve and adapt to support the different needs of our team. So a commitment to mutually supporting each other is essential.
We’re hybrid! It’s not a surprise, but there’s going to be a mixture of on-site and remote working; we’ll work with you to find the right combination for you and the role. So while you’ll be well connected with your teammates, it’s likely that you won’t be in the same environment as everyone you need to collaborate with. Being proactive and making a hybrid working style work for you, your collaborators and your team is essential.
We’re learning! One of our commitments at Mind Foundry is to continuously learn from our experience and so we’re always looking for ways to improve, adapt and move forward. Things can change rapidly. So be prepared for a changing and flexing environment.
Flexible working at Mind Foundry
At Mind Foundry, we're intentional about being a flexible place to work. We’re an international team from all walks of life, unified in our desire to be innovators, change-makers and helpful stewards of AI as it begins to shape our world for years to come.
We are a remote-first business. Whilst we have an office in Oxford, we are passionate about being able to hire the best people and give our team the autonomy to choose where to work. We currently hire within a GMT+/- 2 region, and anyone wanting and able to go to our pet-friendly offices they are welcome to do so at their choosing. Some projects require office-based work, and for those roles and hires, we are very clear about the expectations and make sure that everyone is comfortable with this.
We operate with core hours from 10am to 3pm but also give our teams a lot of flexibility to manage their diaries how they best choose. For example, many of our team members are parents, so their working hours generally revolve around their children and childcare.
We offer all different types of employment, including part-time, to give you even more flexibility.
We are constantly working to improve our approach to flexibility within Mind Foundry, listening and learning from our team to make sure that we continue to build an inclusive and innovative culture, whilst making sure all our team feel valued and connected.
Approach to diversity & inclusion
We are a highly technical and scientific organisation, and our aim is to keep diversity and inclusion at the heart of what we do. We focus on creating a completely equal environment where only your ability and impact are the things that matter.
We, of course, have the relevant and expected policies in place to protect our team.
What do we think of Mind Foundry?
Mind Foundry were super transparent throughout the flexification process., showing openness and asking questions over potential enhancements of employee benefits. With a significant Series A raise, Mind Foundry are growing quickly and it's difficult to remain flexible and onboard as successfully as Mind Foundry are. One of the stand out points throughout the process was the repeated employee feedback about successful onboarding of remote team members.
If you're looking for hybrid working, or remote opportunities in AI, backed by two industry experts, Mind Foundry is the place for you. We'd strongly suggest applying should a vacancy match your skillset.
Meet who might be hiring you
Hi! I'm Davide and I'm the Vice President of Applied Machine Learning at Mind Foundry.
I've been at Mind Foundry for a long time now and seen it grow about 10x so far. The Applied ML team is a collection of extraordinary scientists and engineers with a passion for solving complex problems. I'd say we're super collaborative, always hands on and ready to help each other.
We have a strong culture of learning — not just for our machines, but also for our people. With our strong connections to Oxford University where we were founded, and our desire to stay up-to-date in this rapidly changing field, education is pretty core to everything we do. We even put together a series of Machine Learning courses for new starters and customers alike, where we all teach our favourite subjects.
With a 1-year old, I value a lot the ability to work from home whenever I like, and still manage to play tennis a couple of evenings a week.
If you have a passion for AI and ML, love learning and working in a tight-knit team, please reach out, we're actively recruiting across many of our functions.
Davide Zilli, VP of Applied Machine Learning at Mind Foundry
