Employee reviews

Microsoft UK's employees have anonymously had their say in what they think of the company

Good flexibility and smart co-workers, in a supportive environment focused on getting the very challenging job done

A great company to work for that promotes it's culture beyond the boundaries of the organisation.

I love the approach Microsoft has. It really lets me get on with what I do best.

The people at Microsoft are the best in the industry, but the culture at work, the growth mindset and culture is something that you won't find anywhere else.

Microsoft doesn't just make the right noises but it delivers in terms of flexible working and employee health and benefits.

Come as you are, do what you love. Flexible working times, flexibility re office/ home/ client. I am really happy.

We are empowered to find the right flexibility for our own unique scenario. However, managers need to have more conversations with each of their team members as to what flexibility looks like for them as individuals and then as a team conversation about what the team needs. Otherwise, I think we are extremely fortunate, as a working mum, I don't think I could find as much flexibility elsewhere.

I love working here! Proud to be an employee

Flexibility and culture is what I love the most

As a full-time working mom of two young children, flexibility is incredibly beneficial for me as it enables me to effectively juggle work and family's needs, including my children's school and activities.

Flexible working at Microsoft UK

At Microsoft, we value and support flexibility as part of our hybrid workplace where every employee can do their best work by working the way they work best. A hybrid workplace is a mix of workstyles across work site, work location and work hours.

Work site

This is the physical place where you work. Work site information provided in a job posting indicates the expectations of working remotely or working on-site. The following information will be listed under the work site field in a job posting:

  • Up to 50% work from home

  • Up to 100% work from home

  • Microsoft on-site only

A job posting that lists 100% work from home can be applied for by anyone located within the listed country.

Work location

This is the geographic location of your work. Each organization at Microsoft has guidelines related to location flexibility.

“Multiple locations” listed in a job posting means a job can be done from any or several locations within the country listed.

Please make sure to check the work site field on the job posting to know the expectation of the physical place where you work.

Work hours

This encompasses the hours and days when you work. We encourage employees to work the hours that are best for them and that allow them to deliver according to expectations.

Work schedules can vary depending on individual needs. You will not see any information around work schedule flexibility in a job posting. Your work hours can be discussed with your recruiter and/or hiring manager during the recruiting process.
