Job Description

Join our Modern Work Team as a Surface Specialist and help our customers provide a secure, productive modern workplace with innovative Surface solutions. As the Surface Specialist you will focus on a set of assigned accounts as you drive revenue growth across the entire Surface device and accessories portfolio. As you consult with the customer's Technical and Business Decision Makers, you will gain a deeper understanding of their unique business needs and recommend a solution that will empower their employees and drive their business forward. You will partner closely with our customers when they evaluate hardware solutions, provide guidance as they engage in pilots, and orchestrate a v-team to help remove potential deployment blockers to ensure a successful outcome and high customer satisfaction. Travel Required: 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Be the Surface Sales Leader with product subject matter expertise for your assigned set of customers as part of the Modern Workplace team.
    • Excellent Command of the Business: Exhibits outstanding operational excellence, including healthy pipeline development, CRM entry and hygiene, opportunity management, accurate forecasting, and virtual team orchestration.
    • Proven success in closing complex deals and technical understanding of devices and commercial requirements.
    • Good understanding of Microsoft’s business model and sales model.
  • Be the interface to the customer and orchestrate a team of resources to solve customer's problems.
    • Effective Communicator: Proven ability to listen to customer needs, synthesize feedback from multiple stakeholders and present a recommended go-forward strategy that remains in alignment with that customer’s strategic business objectives.
    • Demonstrated sales and partner management experience; strong passion for building and driving a healthy long-term business. Able to inspire and influence members of the Microsoft sales, services, marketing teams and also Microsoft partners.
  • Significant experience delivering persuasive presentations to key C-level business decision makers, technical decision makers, influencers, industry decision makers and/or boards.
    • Competes to win new market share.
  • Help customers make decisions to build their business and IT solutions based on Microsoft technology.
    • Help identify and diagnose technical and competitive blockers and respective solutions for sales opportunities by engaging the right resources to overcome these blockers.
  • Passion for technology and how a total solution can enable individuals and organizations to achieve more.
    • Own opportunities from start to close as a leader; orchestrate internal and external resources; team with partners to scale sales on hardware refresh, upsell and expand sales motions; engage Modern Workplace sellers to incorporate Microsoft 365, Windows 365, and Modern IT (Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Azure AD).
  • Stay sharp, share your knowledge with peers and learn/apply proven practices from others
    • Ability to overcome and work around problems that are inevitable in rapidly growing businesses – positive approach to problem solving, learning, and identify potential opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Technology-related sales or account management experience. Hardware related experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent qualification) combined with technology-related sales or account management experience. Hardware related experience preferred.
  • Solution or services sales experience.
  • Strategic thinker focused on execution. Ability to develop sales and business strategy options, while also being able to successfully execute complex opportunities.
  • Excellent Communicator. Strong negotiation, organizational, presentation, financial acumen, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Performer. Self-motivated person who consistently exceeds goals and expectations and has the ability, characteristics, and determination to compete effectively against skilled and diverse competition.
  • Collaborator. Work cohesively with members of the Microsoft sales & services field, Microsoft partners, and Microsoft corporate sales, engineering, and marketing to solve customer and partner issues, leverage best practices, & deliver results.
