Job Description

The Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft, and our mission is to build and sell Microsoft solutions and services with our partners, empowering people, and organizations to achieve more. A Partner Technology Strategist (PTS) focuses on working with Enterprise Systems Integrators (ESI) to create mid-term and long-term technical development plans to capture the customer opportunity for Microsoft solutions. These plans are based on a deep understanding of business and technology priorities as well as the industry landscape in alignment with the Partner Business Plans and in collaboration with the Partner Development Manager. This amazing opportunity will allow you to leverage your deep technology strategy acumen to coach and aid our partners to develop impactful solutions and services for our mutual customers. Leveraging your deep technical experience, you will validate our partners’ technology strategy and development plans, assist them to grow their Microsoft’s technical capabilities and capacity, and aid them to in early reference customer wins, to realize consumption and usage results of their solutions and services.

Responsibilities

  • Be the Chief Technology Strategist to our partners: synthesize and combine various business & technical insights from global technology landscape, your colleagues, global best practices, proof points from experience, and deep industry expertise related to partners/customers and their competitors.
  • Be the Advocate: function as the voice of our partners and internal advocate. You orchestrate internal teams to ensure sufficient technical resources for demands when appropriate.
  • Trusted Advisor: provide analysis of overall partner needs for some of the largest and most complex accounts and advise on gaps that would benefit from Microsoft solutions.
  • Trusted Advisor: partner with a line-of-business leader or senior executive within ESI partner organisations to articulate how Microsoft technology/services will meet future business needs and enable long-term growth and success.
  • Deliver Differentiated Products and Solutions: articulate the strategic value of Microsoft solutions, differentiated positioning, and value proposition that meet partners' specific needs and growth objectives.
  • Driving Strategic Product Roadmaps: create partner-specific roadmaps that outline the journey to increased partner sales and Microsoft revenue impact.
  • Innovate with Market and Competitive Knowledge: leverage market trends, customer preferences, and the competitive landscape to influence sales strategies, drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Maximizing Revenue Opportunity: ensure that partner organizations have the expertise and support needed to expand their client base and grow their sales. Collaborate with partners to identify opportunities for mutual growth, aligning partner objectives with the company's revenue targets.
  • Stakeholder Management and Influence: build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders across a spectrum of executives and deep technical resources to foster trust and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Expertise and Credibility: have a comprehensive understanding of the technology industry's trends, platforms, and products/services from both Microsoft and others in the market to establish credibility within and outside of Microsoft.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND several years (ideally 6+) of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical experience
    • OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND several years (ideally 9+) of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical experience
  • Several years of experience managing and collaborating with partners working on enterprise accounts
  • Strong proven expertise in Cloud, Data, AI and GenAI
  • UK You must be legally authorised to work in “United Kingdom” to be eligible for this role. (Legally authorised = Has citizenship or has been granted a valid visa or work permit). Relocation expenses are not provided as part of this role.

Additional qualifications

  • Direct technical sales experience with enterprise-level customers is an advantage
  • Ability and willingess to travel across the UK (up to 75% travel).
