Supply Chain is a function within our airline organisation responsible for the timely and most economical availability of aircraft spares to support the TUI operation and maintenance activities. The Supply Chain function operates as a multi-disciplinary team of experts driving efficiency and innovation.

As Line Operational Team Leader, your focus will be to develop, manage, and improve. The purpose of this job is to oversee and manage overall supply chain and logistics operations to maximize efficiency and minimize cost of organisation’s supply chain. The Line Operational Supply Chain team leader leads the supply chain team, ensuring that they are appropriately trained, motivated, and resourced to provide effective and compliant material supply for Line and Base maintenance activities at TUI and outsourced MRO’s, including warehousing, logistics, buying and expediting to achieve the performance objectives consistent with company values and this throughout the different regions. In the absence of the Regional Supply Chain Manager, he will be required to assume responsibility. In this role, you’ll report to the Northern Region or Continental Region Supply Chain Manager.

ABOUT THE JOB

As Line Operational Supply Chain Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Operations Management – Lead coordination between the different teams, the supply chain demand and planning for Line – and Base maintenance, its line stations and the outsourced stations to facilitate effective, efficient, and timely operational supply chain management
  • Resource management – Ensure Supply Chain staff are informed, trained, and motivated about their roles and responsibilities and being planned to the best of their capabilities, including making recommendations to the Regional Supply Chain Manager regarding staff development. Building an optimal and committed manpower planning that maximizes the quality, efficiency, and reliability of the supply chain department
  • Coordination and monitoring of all staff within their work area – provide briefings, guidance and support necessary to deliver effectively the assigned daily work plan. Develop work plans with staff as necessary to increase compliance and understanding of Aviation procedures. Review staff resource plans & training matrix to ensure sufficient staff are available to meet the required departmental work commitments and regulatory requirements. Provide the necessary training and information to the Supply Chain staff members, motivating and coaching of team members based on our organisational values
  • Quality & Compliance – Supervising and ensuring Supply Chain processes are compliant to all required in – and external procedures and guidelines. To establish a rigorous, accountable, and transparent Supply Chain process and planning
  • Ensure the Supply Chain staff are informed of areas of logistics responsibilities and where cooperation from other departments is required, managing the line warehouse(s) to support the TUI line station
  • Monitor task progress and take necessary action to deliver in agreed timescale/budget completing all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, reporting on a weekly and monthly basis regarding warehouse stock report, fleet utilization report, and asset lists
  • Conduct spot checks of warehouse, fleet, and asset management to ensure implementation and documentation is up to date and produce review reports on areas where improvement is needed
  • Accountable for monitoring team compliance with departmental procedures; Health and Safety; Airport Regulations and Bylaws. Manage external audits such as customer, pool stock, financial, authority, H&S, environmental & customs audits
  • Coordinate with the Regional Supply Chain Manager to ensure that all issues are reported, and solutions are realised as the issues arise. Report all anomalies to the Regional Supply Chain Manager immediately.
  • Ensure proper accounting, reporting, internal controls and maintenance/filing of records, manage financial write off following stock controls. Enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding corruption and contribute to ensuring complaints are recorded and investigated appropriately.
  • Planning, implementing, and monitoring the overall supply chain strategy accordingly in order to maximize efficiency and productivity. Detect and identify process bottleneck, suggest solutions for process improvements and implement these solutions in a timely manner. Understand how to get the best from our AMOS system, improving processes and tools.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor education level or relevant experience
  • Required relevant work experience
  • People management experience at a mid to senior level within a supply chain environment
  • Operational management expertise: striving for excellence: You focus on reaching results while ensuring an efficient process.
  • In-depth knowledge of the procurement rules and regulations applicable within the organization and supply chain department
  • Proactive, result-oriented, and energetic with a structured approach to complex tasks and a good understanding of the details.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills and a dedicated team player who is also capable of working independently.
  • Role requires strong business English, both spoken and written
  • May involve some international travel
