About us

At the core of BAE Systems is an overarching purpose – we play our part to serve, supply and protect those who serve and protect us.

We make the future more secure for everyone by creating bold, pioneering security products and services that can change the world we live in.

Flexible working at BAE Systems

We're all doing vital work here that impacts the world. But we want to make sure you can balance life at work and life at home. As well as generous annual leave, we offer 52 weeks' maternity leave, with the option of returning to work on reduced hours for the first 13 weeks, as well as a competitive range of family leave benefits like paternity, adoption, parental and dependents leave.

As the world has evolved, so has the way we work. We offer different types of hybrid working arrangements depending on your role and your location. You'll be trusted and empowered to determine a working pattern that works for you, your team, and our customers.

And as a global business you'll benefit from the opportunities that brings. Many of our roles offer the chance to move to different locations in the UK and around the world. So as we evolve, you can too.

Approach to diversity & inclusion

We want to lead the way in the defence sector and beyond. By 2030 we have set our ambition for women to make up at least 50% of our Executive Committee and 30% of our workforce. We’re determined to be more diverse at all levels of the organisation and to be truly representative of the communities in which we operate.

There’s work to do, but we’re focused on attracting the best people to work here. We have 6 employee groups dedicated to our people, offering a range of support across our business in mental health awareness, gender equality, gender and sexual identity, cultural and ethnic diversity and support for our disabled community.
