Location: Hub Based - Hybrid for all

Salary banding: £63,000 - £75,000

Experience: Senior Mid-Level

Working pattern: Full-Time

Reporting to: Head of D2C

This role in 3 words: Tactical, analytical, strategic

Top 3 qualities for this role: Collaborative, customer-centric, proactive

Where you’ll work:

Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.

You’ll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices, Bristol, Glasgow, or London; unless your role requires field-based work. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

Everyone belongs at OVO:

At OVO, we are on a mission to solve one of humanity's biggest challenges, the climate crisis. And we know it takes all of us to change the world. That's why we need diverse people from all abilities, gender identities, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, life experiences and backgrounds to join us.

Teamworking for the planet:

Everything we do here spins around Plan Zero. So, naturally, the team you’ll be joining plays a gigantic role in making that happen. Here’s how:

Joining the Direct to Consumer team, you’ll own the optimisation of our interest-to-purchase customer journeys, making it easier for customers to join and renew their commitment to a greener future with OVO. Your work driving sustainable growth and removing friction from our funnels ensures we can scale our collective impact, helping us deliver on our Plan Zero goal.

This role in a nutshell:

We are looking for a highly analytical CRO Manager (Conversion Rate Optimisation) to bridge the gap between our Marketing and Product teams.

Your mission is to own the optimisation of OVO’s interest-to-purchase customer journeys, for acquisition, cross sell and renewals (across Web, App and Agents), using a measured and strategic approach to optimising conversion rate. You will focus on incrementality, personalisation, and behavioural economics to drive sustainable growth through, and remove friction from, our purchase funnels.

Your key outcomes will be:

  • End-to-end strategy: Map complete customer funnels across multiple journey types, from ad creative to final thank-you page, identifying and prioritising friction points for testing.
  • Hands-on customer journey testing: Build, launch, and manage multivariate tests across the customer journey using either tools like Optimizely, or by working with relevant product stakeholders.
  • Marketing testing plans: Collaborate with paid media team / agency to align ad testing strategies and bespoke landing page experiments..
  • Deep-Dive Analytics: Going beyond the surface win/fail, you’ll use analytics tools such as MixPanel and GA4 to track, analyse and understand test results.
  • Statistical rigor: Your knowledge will enable you to define sample sizes and significance levels to ensure every test result is valid and reproducible.
  • Post-test analysis: Translate raw data into insights, explaining why it influenced user behavior and what that means for future strategy.
  • Cross-Functional collaboration: develop and nurture strong relationships across different disciplines, including product, tech, UX, brand, creative and marketing.

You’ll be a successful CRO Manager at OVO if you…

  • …are obsessed with numbers. You understand the difference between correlation and causation and can spot a "false positive" from a mile away.
  • …come from a testing background. You’ll have 4+ years in a CRO, growth, or analytical role with a proven track record of growing funnel conversion rate.
  • …have a full-stack understanding. You understand how a Facebook Pixel works just as well as you understand a checkout API.
  • …are a great communicator. You’ll be as comfortable creating test performance dashboards, talking with tech colleagues or presenting results back to senior leadership.
  • …take a proactive approach. You take pride in identifying areas of opportunity and working with stakeholders to execute your testing strategy.

Let’s talk about what’s in it for you:

We’ll pay you between £63,000 and £75,000, depending on your specific skills and experience.

We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.

You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.

We also offer plenty of green benefits and progressive policies to help you feel like you belong at OVO…and there’s flex pay. We'll give you 9% Flex Pay on top of your salary – 4% of this is auto enrolled into your pension, and the remaining 5% is yours to do what you like with. You can use this to buy from our extensive range of flexible benefits, including our green benefits which we've put at the heart of our offering, add to your pension or even take it as cash.
