We are looking for a Regulatory Marketing Specialist for British Gas Services & Solutions is responsible for ensuring that all marketing and promotional materials, including financial promotions, comply with the relevant regulatory and legal requirements, as well as the brand and marketing guidelines and tone of voice.

They will also provide guidance and support to the marketing and communications team on best practices and industry standards for marketing and promotions approval.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Review and approve all marketing and promotional materials, including financial promotions, for British Gas Homecare products and services, ensuring that they are clear, fair and not misleading, and that they meet the requirements of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), and other relevant bodies.
  • Review internal communications, call scripts, briefing documents for Customer Fulfilment and Field colleagues, ensuring that they are consistent with the marketing and promotional materials and that they adhere to the brand guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Review external marketing and communications, ensuring that they comply with the legal and regulatory requirements, such as the Consumer Rights Act, the Data Protection Act, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
  • .Provide feedback and recommendations to the marketing and communications team on how to improve the quality and effectiveness of marketing and promotional materials, as well as how to mitigate any potential risks or issues.
  • Monitor and report on the performance and compliance of marketing and promotional materials, including financial promotions, and identify any areas for improvement or action.
  • Develop and maintain a robust and efficient approval process for marketing and promotions, including financial promotions, that is aligned with the business objectives and timelines, and that ensures a consistent and compliant approach across all channels and media.
  • .Keep up to date with the latest regulatory and legal developments, industry trends and best practices for marketing and promotions, including financial promotions, and communicate them to the marketing and communications team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • .Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, such as the FCA, the ASA, the legal team, the compliance team, the product team, and the agencies, and act as the main point of contact for any queries or issues related to marketing and promotions approval.
  • Provide training and coaching to the marketing and communications team and other relevant stakeholders on marketing and promotions approval, including financial promotions, and ensure that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to comply with the approval process and standards
  • Demonstrate an understanding of advertising, marketing and consumer law, and apply it to the review and approval of marketing and promotional materials.
  • Operate within the guidelines to make sensible risk-based judgement decisions, and escalate any complex or contentious cases to the senior management or the relevant authority.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in a compliance or governance role
  • Good understanding of governance and compliance principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
