Role Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Communications Specialist to join our award-winning Marketing team. The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in brand leadership and/or agency roles, with a strong background in managing communications and marketing campaigns. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role will be instrumental in shaping and executing our Marketing strategy, delivering exciting and engaging creative, and delivering our best, for our customers.

Duties & Role Requirements

  • Developing, shaping and implementing transformational communication strategies across B2C and B2B, in line with the overall business objectives and defined KPIs for the brand
  • Collaborate with Consumer and Business teams to understand business needs, strategic direction, and key priorities for Bord Gáis Energy
  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of all Energy campaigns, delivering best in class marketing effectiveness and build brand equity for Bord Gáis Energy
  • Manage the marketing communications budget – work with Marketing Manager to make recommendations on spend and track and report on spend
  • Optimise Energy campaigns based on audit results, econometric modelling learnings, customer behaviour and effectiveness best practices
  • Inspire & lead cross functional & agency teams to develop and deliver award winning brand and marketing campaigns that deliver on growing brand power & our commercial objectives
  • Promote a culture of creativity and marketing excellence within the Marketing team
  • Advise and educate the team on best practice marketing in relation to media planning/buying, creative creation/execution and other areas/channels of marketing.
  • Lead the development and implementation of integrated communications plans to drive brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling content for various channels, including digital, social media, print, and events.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and partners to ensure the successful delivery of communication initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, product teams, and customer service, to align brand and communication efforts with business objectives.
  • Work closely with wider marketing team, category and stakeholders to ensure integration, understanding and alignment across all campaigns
  • Develop, manage and drive all GTM plans and act as lead for all campaign projects
  • Lead key projects including price change, regulatory and mandatory comms and Government incentives.
  • Manage creative and media agencies – budgets, hours, key meetings & relationships.
  • Work closely with wider marketing team – Sponsorship & Digital to ensure campaigns are connected back to the overall Bord Gáis Energy world and align to wider marketing plans and objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Business/Marketing Degree and relevant experience in a Marketing/Brand or agency related function
  • Agency experience is a must – either working in a creative/media agency, or else managed and worked directly with from client perspective.
  • Experience working with a broad marketing mix, including above the line, online and below the line techniques – with an emphasis on ATL skills, such as TV, VOD, Radio & OOH.
  • Strong business sense and commercial awareness
  • Excellent and proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and brand management concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and presentations.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful brand and communication strategies that drive business results.
  • Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and a passion for innovation.
  • Experience managing external agencies, vendors, and partners.
