Job Description

We’re on a mission to provide equitable access to economic opportunity, for everyone.

We close critical skill gaps in the workforce through a new kind of apprenticeship that combines work and learning. We begin by recognizing high-potential individuals both inside and outside of a company's current workforce and then we create applied, guided and equitable learning programs, with measurable impact. Because we believe the world needs a better way to match its potential.

We work with over 1,500 leading companies including the likes of Microsoft, Citi and Just Eat to help solve their business-critical problems, and we’ve trained over 16,000 professional apprentices in the tech and data skills of the future. This is made possible by our global team who are driven to achieve a mission that matters, together.

Join Multiverse and help us set a new course for work.

The Opportunity

Multiverse is seeking a highly strategic, passionate and detail-oriented Compensation Strategy Lead to join our People Operations team. As the Compensation Strategy Lead, you will work closely with both our People Leadership team to create, embed and advise on an intelligent, competitive and engaging compensation philosophy that is supported by internal & external trends and data to attract and retain the best talent in the world.

You will use your deep expertise in compensation to find the right mix of cash/equity/ benefits that will invigorate our employee base and work as a thought leader within the business, working with every level of management to drive revolutionary outcomes as we continue to grow as an Ed Tech Unicorn.

In this role you will:

  • Act as the owner of our compensation philosophy and pillars, creating a fair & equitable environment that attracts and retains the best talent in the world

  • Create an in-depth framework, customised for different parts of the business (i.e. GTM, coaching, etc) to ensure we’re maximising the use of incentives on performance: ensuring we have the right equity/cash/benefits mix to be competitive, in a VC backed tech environment

  • Provide deep expertise and strategic influence in our approach to benchmarking, conducting deep analysis yourself and with the support of partners (i.e. Radford) to ensure we are always staying up to date with the market, and pivoting where necessary

  • Create a shared language around compensation at Multiverse - communicating with and enabling managers, and the wider people and talent team to speak about comp in a consistent and engaging way

  • In partnership with your people operations colleagues, ensure we have the right auditing processes in place for our benefits plans (i.e. ERISA compliance) and reporting calendar for required compliance (401k Testing, gender pay gap reporting)

  • Own the communication & consistency of our semi-annual salary reviews, ensuring we build a compelling & transparent approach that is easy for employees to understand

  • Own the setup and operating rhythm for our first RemCo, providing the VP of People with the tools and frameworks to run this work going forward

About You:

  • Need for speed: You’ve held a compensation strategy role in a people team at a fast-paced VC-backed scaleup that’s grown rapidly, ideally with a presence in both the US and UK.

  • Subject matter expertise: You have demonstrable experience of leading a compensation strategy, and have a deep understanding of how strategic compensation practices reduce attrition and increase productivity.

  • The job is never done: You pride yourself on your attention to detail and never dropping the ball. You understand that you can only expect excellence if you demonstrate it yourself.

  • Proof is in the pudding: you are skilled at data analytics and fuel your strategy through both internal and external data sources. You can go one step further and use data to tell the story behind your strategy to senior leaders.

  • Integrity is paramount: You are honest, ethical and dependable with a high level of professionalism.

  • Right-hand person: you know how to build relationships with people of all levels - you’re empathetic, effective, fair and commercially minded.

  • Innovation through Iteration: You’ve got your hand on the pulse of external innovations and trends and can implement these best practices in-house while still maintaining our culture as an organisation. You are consistently finding ways to one-up our approach to compensation as a business.
