Creative, collaborative, ambitious – it’s hard work. But what makes it worth it? Leaving work knowing we’ve made a difference to our customers, users, and to each other.

Put our distinct brands together with our dedicated colleagues and you’ve got a workplace with lots of personality. We’re open-minded, diverse, and love our differences. Everyone plays a part, and comes together to work hard, go beyond, and make sure everyone feels they belong.

A key part of this is our amazing communications team. They spark the connections and maintain our relationships with internal and external partners, bringing to life the fantastic work that our teams are involved in. And this is where you come in. We're hiring for a Communications & Corporate Affairs Executive, could this be the opportunity that will elevate your career?

About the role

This role is perfect for someone looking to take to take the next step in their career – whether to stay in-house or to make the jump from agency to an in-house role. Our communications team is small, lean, and dynamic. They work on fast-paced, highly diverse campaigns, and that means a huge variety of work to get stuck into. Campaigns, media relations and briefings across PR and corporate affairs. This is a great chance for a self-starter who takes the initiative and wants to work at pace.

What are the day-to-day tasks

PR Campaigns:

  • Develop and implement strategic PR campaigns for brand visibility and positive media coverage
  • Collaborate with the team to respond to media inquiries and protect and enhance our reputation.

Internal Tracking and Reporting:

  • Manage internal tracking, including speaking opportunities, media coverage, and communications calendar.
  • Keep materials up-to-date.

Content Creation and Proofreading:

  • Write and proofread materials, including media responses, press releases, and content for owned channels (digital and social media).

Relationship Building:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with journalists and industry influencers to raise awareness of products and services.
  • Foster internal relationships with colleagues across commercial teams and marketing functions.

Event Support:

  • Assist in developing and running communications events, such as media briefings and charity partnerships.

What we look for:

  • We'd love for you to have experience in a communications agency. You'll understand the challenges of working in a busy PR department with a great understanding of how press office functions, and the media industry, work. Worried that you've not worked in-house for a brand before - don't let this put you off.
  • We want to see an interest in what we do! Whether that is financial services, technology, or both. Sector experience isn’t a prerequisite - we’re interested in people who bring energy to the role and who can apply their skills.
  • Exceptional organisation and time management. We're used to making fast-paced decisions and work in rapidly changing environments.
  • Great initiative and ability to think ahead, show us you can be confident taking ownership of decision making.
  • Experience of both PR campaigns you’ve worked on and of dealing with reactive media enquiries. You’ll be able to discuss examples of your work that demonstrate your instinct for what makes a good news story
  • Experience working across channels, including social and digital. You enjoy partnering with colleagues to maximise the reach and impact of earned campaigns on other channels.
  • Existing relationships across media, and keen to build your relationships with personal finance, insurance, technology, lifestyle and consumer journalists.
  • Resilience and diplomacy; you work collaboratively to get the best outcomes.
  • Self-confident, but continuously seeking to improve by appraising your own work and taking feedback onboard.
