Job Description

The Manager, Purchase Strategy Teams is responsible for managing the PST program and enabling PST leads to create and execute comprehensive purchase strategies for key spend areas within Global Procurement. The Manager will work with colleagues to ensure their purchase strategies include detailed spend analysis, a clear understanding of business needs, industry assessment, and short; mid; and long-term actions. In this role, you will interact with business units, spend areas and stakeholders at the local/regional/global level and monitor the implementation of purchase strategies.

You’ll help create a competitive advantage for Mondelēz International by establishing a winning spend strategy program and effectively working with the resources responsible for executing those strategies. Working with spend area team leads, you will drive sustainable top and bottom-line growth through comprehensive purchase strategies, best-in-class strategy development methodologies, and highly effective analysis processes and tools.

Development and delivery of training and resource materials that are accessible across Global Procurement. Responsible for purchase strategy team processes capabilities and reporting. Provide assistance for teams that support all brands, Business Units and functions. Ensure teams and team leads are aware of their responsibilities and purchase strategy team deliverables. Operate using a continuous improvement mindset and implement changes that drive incremental value.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with related experience a must. MS/MBA/CPIM a plus.

  • Minimum 5 years quality, sourcing or related/relevant experience within a multi-plant or multi-divisional business, required.

  • Must have proven track record of successfully managing projects, people and resources and responsible for developing & implementing purchase strategies within a global environment.

  • Strategic long-term & short-term thinking, ability to multitask with a sense of urgency.

  • Interface and influence with external resources and internal resources at all levels, highly desired.

  • Bachelor’s degree with related experience a must. MS/MBA/CPIM a plus.

Job specific requirements:

  • Help teams develop and implement purchase strategies to optimize sourcing results.

  • Coach teams on how to execute their purchase strategies to ensure short-term initiatives, mid-term actions and the long-term strategies are achieved.

  • Serve as a resource for teams on topics including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, supplier diversity, sustainability, contracting, performance and risk management.

  • Work with Purchase Strategy Team Leads to understand spend and identify opportunities to support Global Procurement objectives.

  • Produce reporting and analysis of spend area strategy teams to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Facilitate implementation of change initiatives to improve purchase strategy team performance.

  • Identify and share best practices used to develop purchase strategies and lead teams, including but not limited to stakeholder engagement.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors and product innovations.

  • Build strong relationships with team leads with a focus on fostering trust and collaboration.

  • Develop a maturity plan for purchase strategy team program implementation and provide regular progress updates to the GPLT.
