JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

This role is a critical delivery role and is a key leadership position within the Salam Fleet Support Team. The role holder will report to the Fleet support Director and is responsible for ensuring; the operational performance of the support chain and fitness for purpose and optimisation of the logistic services solution, to enable the contract and operational delivery performance.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Key purpose of the role is to ensure operational output is achieved, to cost and schedule, by ensuring that support chain risk and opportunity are effectively managed, with specific responsibility for logistic services delivery and support chain integration, providing the operations team with the enabling materiel resources required to generate operational output, i.e. Aircraft Availability.

· To succeed the role holder must create a compelling vision for the team; leading a complex matrix organisation to ensure alignment of purpose, aims/objectives and tactical actions.

· The position requires in-depth knowledge of the Typhoon Platform and Eurofighter Programme construct along with experience of complex programme delivery, including contract management and customer relationship management at senior levels.

· It is essential that the role holder has significant understanding of the current organisations, stakeholders and control frameworks within the Salam Support programme. This knowledge and experience is essential to operate effectively, both within the In-Kingdom organisations and to collaborate with the European Suppliers / Sub-Contractors.

· The role requires significant demonstrable experience managing complex cross boundary problems in a highly uncertain and fast-moving programme.

· The role holder must have experience in support solution design and/or delivery and possess the strategic vision and business acumen to be able to inform effective day-to-day decision making and guide strategic planning for service enhancement and evolution.

· The role holder must possess the ability to drive the support chain and ensure the team are aligned and motivated to resolve and mitigate issues and risks in a time sensitive context in order to deliver the operational requirement.

· The role requires development of collaborative working relationships supported by an effective management framework to enable high levels of integration and efficient communication across the enterprise. The role requires excellent customer relationship management skills, experience of engaging and influencing at all levels.

· The role requires a high level of knowledge and experience of the Eurofighter Support Solutions, and the related products and services operated by the RSAF and the other Eurofighter Typhoon operators. The ability to develop and exploit mutually beneficial relationships across the wider Eurofighter programme to further optimise the support chain is a critical requirement of the role.

· The role holder will work collaboratively within the Salam Support and Training Team to identify and manage performance issues / risks / opportunities against the relevant areas of the contract, and where necessary capture and drive change actions.

In order to achieve the above key responsibilities, the role will require:

· Travel to other locations in KSA / UK / Europe to attend workshops, reviews and meetings.

· Significant internal and external collaboration to ensure that the SSS service delivers the required customer outcomes.

· Integration of multiple data inputs and providing consolidated viewpoints to enable informed decision making

· Leading reviews, with senior leadership, of key business issues and ensuring integrated actions are mobilised.

· Significant internal cross functional and cross business unit collaboration to realise project goals.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Project Management

· Knowledge of Eurofighter Programme and Typhoon Platform and its Support Solutions

· Experience within the Eurofighter In-Kingdom & European supply chain.

· Experience of managing support product service delivery, including managing support change delivery

· Experience managing a service delivery and associated contract management activity

· Proven ability to collaborate and influence across organisational boundaries at all levels of the organisation, integrating, prioritising, managing conflict and solving problems as appropriate.

· Understanding of middle eastern markets
