Job Description

We are looking for a Digital Merchandisaing Manager to join our broader TUI organisation focused on delivering revenue and sales targets for the Holiday Hypermarket and Holidays for Heroes websites. Both websites play an important role in the distribution of TUI holidays albeit utilising slightly differing propositions to deliver its goals. The objective is to ensure that we provide an efficient distribution channel by maximising the performance of offers and campaigns, translating into higher conversion and increased revenues. You will also work closely with the broader First Choice product and technology teams to help shape and define longer term enhancements to support performance.

As a Digital Merchandising Manager for Holiday Hypermarket and Holidays for Heroes you will lead on delivering online sales and revenue targets, building campaigns and offers that resonate with customers and align with our commercial requirements. You will need to collaborate closely with commercial and product colleagues to ensure agility in reacting to customer trends and behaviours as well as external influences such as competitor activity. A desire test and learn will be essential, building a clear understanding of merchandising methods in the wider industry and outside of travel to create an inspiring digital experience. An analytical acumen is required to have a clear understanding of how different levers can be utilised to influence customer behaviour and prioritise the right actions to achieve objectives.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Responsible for the online commercial performance of the Holiday Hypermarket and Holidays for Heroes websites, ensuring the delivery of sales and revenue targets
  • Understand the needs of both the customer and business to build relevant and inspiring merchandising offers and campaigns
  • Building an understanding of customer behaviour on site, continuously striving to improve conversion by testing new messaging and experiences for our customers
  • Closely collaborate with commercial colleagues to align priorities and provide insight for future opportunities
  • Manage the Holiday Hypermarket Merchandising team, ensuring delivery of objectives and supporting members with their own learning and development
  • Maintain a close relationship with Technology teams to ensure any operational issues or defects are managed and understand their impact on sales performance.
  • Look to personalise experiences for our customers, using tools to recognise behaviour and help support them in making it easy and enjoyable to find the right holiday
  • Present performance insights and data regularly to stakeholders and senior management, highlighting trading position and identifying actions to maximise sales and margin.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of wider industry practices and trends
  • Recognise customer usage across devices, adapting campaigns to be responsive and optimised for different platform types
  • Drive additional revenue by increasing ancillary attachment, highlighting products and services that add value to the customer
  • Focus on enabling effective decision making within your team and fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in working in a sales/merchandising/marketing role in an online environment.
  • Skilled at understanding data and qualitative insight about what causes online products to convert
  • Autonomous and comfortable acting like a business owner, problem solving, and dealing with ambiguity
  • Commercially-minded, always looking for opportunities to drive growth
  • Strong communication, project management, and teamwork skills
  • A confident presenter with strong influencing skills.
  • Analytical and highly numerate.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and an eye for design and style
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of digital CMS and testing tools
  • Curious about new technologies and developments.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and written skills
