We are looking for a Data Development & Support Analyst to join us fully remotely in the UK.

In this role, you’ll sit in the team that ensures the latest data is loaded from various sources into our Azure Data Lake and Date Warehouse, which is then updated in Power BI Reports. As a Data Development Analyst, you will look at innovative ways of continually improving how this data is ingested, such as having better robustness, enhanced performance, and detailed monitoring. You will also be making sure that necessary security processes and Data Governance policies are met. This is accomplished using the latest tools available in the Azure Stack and Databricks’ data intelligence platform.

You will also work with internal and external stakeholders in delivering key agricultural market information and support those solutions with varied stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and maintaining consistent data collection and reporting processes that:
  • Maximising the use of the software available
  • Producing high quality and accurate information.
  • Complying with Data Protection Act and security and confidentiality rules.
  • Supporting LI’s users to ensure they have an efficient and reliable data service.
  • Using Azure DevOps Pipelines to build, test and deploy code to different environments.
  • Actively investigating ways of utilising the Azure stack and Databricks to present data in clear, concise, and innovative ways and using this knowledge to benefit both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Developing innovative reporting solutions that will increase the value of the data delivered by statutory bodies or industry.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to ensure clear and valuable information is developed and supported to allow value to be gained from LI’s data and data that may sit outside the organisation.
  • Keeping abreast of appropriate industry and technological developments and applying to LI’s technical capability
  • Working closely with Business Analysts and Data Engineers to develop innovative solutions and develop and enhance those already in existence.
  • Training and developing other team members and users in the use of BI Software and coach individuals on how to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Carrying out vigorous testing and quality assurance to ensure any improvements to existing systems or new systems produce accurate information that is of high quality
  • Working within an agile environment, be flexible and proactive.
  • Undertaking any other duties as required to assist with the operational priorities of the Data team.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Considerable experience querying databases using SQL
  • Good knowledge of Databricks and Python
  • Experience of creating reporting or analysis solutions using Power BI
  • Experience of Data Ingestion processes and data warehousing
  • Good working knowledge of the Azure Cloud Platform
  • Experience working in Agile environments and SCRUM teams
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
