Job Description

As a Consultant in our Industry Solutions Delivery team, you will regularly interact with our customers as you consult and guide their teams through largescale and complex migrations to our cloud platform. Your enthusiasm and curiosity will be important as you enable our customers to implement our technology successfully and for them to use it effectively in order to deliver their business outcomes.

This is an opportunity where you will use and develop your technical, hands-on engineering skills, as well as enhance your communication and consulting capability as you assume a key customer-facing role in digital transformation projects.

Responsibilities

As a passionate technical expert, you'll engage with external decision-makers, facilitating technical design workshops to translate business needs into Azure solutions. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • hands-on solution implementation with your peer consultants
  • acting as a technical lead within your specialized area, you'll understand commercial responsibilities and align technical delivery with program milestones, taking accountability for technical risks.
  • serving as an advisor and mentor, fostering technical expertise within the UK Consulting community and your industry vertical.
  • Collaborating with account teams to strengthen the relationship between sales and delivery and liaising with our product group to access engineers building solutions, all in the pursuit of delivering Microsoft's offerings effectively to customers.
  • contributing to pre-sales efforts by shaping deals through understanding business requirements and providing industry and technical insights.
  • assisting in drafting proposals and statements of work.

Qualifications

Your ability to be both technical and commercially minded will be invaluable as you guide and support our customers through complex and impactful business transformations. You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Technical proficiency in enterprise scale cloud based data platform solutions with a strong preference for Azure. (ideally deep knowledge in one, or more, of Azure Data Platform, cloud DevOps practices, and data migration strategies.)
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a production environment doing one of:
  • Database Development
  • Business Intelligence
  • Advanced Data Analytics and/or MLOps
  • Big Data Implementation
  • Utilize AI and GenAI expertise to architect and deploy cutting-edge AI models, employing techniques such as data mining, machine learning, and natural language processing to create predictive algorithms.
  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools commonly used in cloud environments, such as SQL, Python, C#, PowerShell, Bicep/Terraform.
  • a track record of leading cross-functional teams of consultants in complex cloud projects. Delivery experience working in and leading teams of cross skilled teams of Engineers developing Secure-by-Design Enterprise Scale Architectures with focus on scalability, reliability, automation, and performance.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, practices, and tools.
  • industry-recognized certifications or equivalent proven learning and growth related to cloud technologies, especially Azure certifications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ready to focus on Azure.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and security best practices.

This role requires some travel to client sites, which can be between 25-50% of the time.
