What you will contribute to the team
As a Data Analyst within our growing Data Advisory Team, you will help us empower lasting industry transformation. You will be part of our entrepreneurial and growing team which provides industry-leading, award-winning consulting services. We work with our clients helping them to harness opportunities, including digital to tackle their complex challenges. We do this by bringing together the best of our engineering domain knowledge and digital and data know how.

You will be responsible helping our clients explore and use their data. You will deliver these data projects through the stages of obtaining data, cleaning and modelling the data, and presenting the results to stakeholders. You will be a trusted advisor to clients, and will be a key part of building our capability and reputation; you will therefore need to be comfortable managing stakeholders and accessing support from the broader team as needed.

In this role you will:

  • support the bidding and scoping process for new projects, and may occasionally be asked to support projects outside of your technical expertise, such as supporting data governance, information management, or digital projects
  • manage your professional development, ensuring you have competencies in the tools, approaches and skills that will support your clients.

You will also contribute to the development of the team and organisation, for instance by contributing to wider innovation or support projects, attending or contributing to events, or engaging in peer support.

Candidate Specification
Essential Requirements

  • A numerate degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Capable of delivering data [analytics] projects from obtaining data through to communicating results, evidenced through direct experience or relevant training
  • Good project management skills, enabling the managed delivery of your work as well as the ability to engage constructively with a broader project team
  • Experience with PowerBI, or experience with similar tools coupled with a willingness to learn
  • A capable analyst with skills in some or all of: data cleansing, statistics, an understanding of modelling techniques, data visualisation
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to engage with clients, present results, and connect the data project with the organisation’s overall approach and vision
  • A learning and growth mindset, able to manage change and develop new skills as required.


Desirable Requirements

  • Proficiency with data science tools such as python, R, git, SQL, and/or cloud platforms
  • A creative approach to scoping projects and an ability to recognise opportunities for data projects that deliver value
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development, such as membership or chartership with a professional body
  • Experience in one or more of transportation, energy, water, defence, buildings, environment, or technology sectors
  • Experience in consultancy roles, with skills in some of: working with clients, bid writing, proposal development, building a network, and business development activity
  • Experience working with Office 365 and in particular with the power platform stack.
