LISBON
Our Lisbon office is located in Portugal's cosmopolitan capital. In this office, Farfetchers like to have catch ups in the ball pit or creative moments by the grand piano!

THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity to join the Tax Team of a dynamic, fast-growing, technology business, supporting the expansion of the group and improving assurance on indirect tax, mainly VAT, applicable to the Group.
The ITX/VAT Compliance Manager will have a mixed role between EU and UK VAT compliance and the rest of the world's indirect tax compliance obligations related to the companies of the FARFETCH Group. You will provide work close to the business, especially with the finance team, and report directly to the Global Head of Indirect Tax.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Responsible for final review and approval of VAT/GST or equivalent indirect tax returns (EU, UK, and other jurisdictions) and reconciliation procedures of the Farfetch Group
  • Be the main contact for all audit teams on questions around the indirect tax position of the group in connection with the wider tax group
  • Develop a plan to improve the Group's end-to-end EU VAT compliance systems to ensure processes are in place to help grow the business
  • Ensure that all compliance indirect tax risks facing FARFETCH are managed to limit any potential financial loss
  • Build constructive relationships with tax authorities to ensure that FARFETCH is understood and to ensure the Group pays the correct amount of tax in each country
  • Develop and support the VAT compliance team and oversee their career development

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience across EU & UK VAT compliance matters - other jurisdictions as a plus
  • Experience in a management role - in-house and/or consulting experience
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Project management multiple strategic initiatives, and able to manage competing priorities to ensure delivery of the most important tasks within appropriate timelines
  • Excellent attention to detail, good judgment showing logical data-based decision-making, and a hands-on approach
  • The ability to work managing multiple partners (both internal and external) in detail
