Job Description

Senior Compliance Manager

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Operations team is at the heart of Deliveroo—ensuring our three-sided marketplace runs safely, fairly, and efficiently. From designing robust rider policies to navigating complex regulatory landscapes and scaling global compliance frameworks, we solve the high-stakes challenges that protect our community. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, possess strong operational grit, and want to build trust in a global brand—this is the team for you.

We’re looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to join our London team. In this role, you’ll help us ensure our compliance operations are seamless, owning rider policies from conception to roll-out and leading the response to complex compliance incidents.

Get to know our Operations team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Global Delivery Operations team. Reporting to the Director of Operations Programmes, you will be the bridge between Product, Data Science, Legal, and Rider Support to ensure a world-class, compliant experience for our riders.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Policy Strategy & Execution: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of key rider policies. You'll partner with Data Science to quantify risks and design the logic and rules for new global standards.

  • Incident Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for compliance breaches. When a gap is identified, such as a surge in fraudulent activity, you will lead the cross-functional response to contain the issue.

  • Root Cause & Remediation: Perform deep-dives into breaches to understand the "why." You’ll turn incident learnings into long-term strategies, proposing structural solutions that turn today’s incident into tomorrow’s automated prevention.

  • Global Optimisation: Work with local markets and support teams to roll out policies globally, tracking performance data and iterating to continuously improve results.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with technical and non-technical teams to implement executable plans that balance immediate risk mitigation with scalable long-term fixes.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others:

  • Problem Structuring: A proven ability to take chaotic, complex incidents and break them down into logical, executable plans with "operational urgency."

  • Strategic Thinking: A first-principles thinker who can apply immediate tactical fixes while simultaneously designing long-term, scalable structural solutions.

  • Stakeholder Management: Comfort "managing up" during a crisis and the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse global teams.

  • Data-Driven Mindset: Comfort using data to size complex problems and a commitment to measuring the success of implemented solutions.

  • Programme Management: Experience managing programmes in a complex regulatory or high-growth environment is preferred.

Why Join Us?
