Overview

Working in our British Gas Services and Solutions business you will join our Transformation team.

Our Fusion Programme supports our growth strategy for our British Gas field business. It involves the implementation of a new technologies to allow better customer service. In addition, it will help us simplify and standardise processes and technology across Hive, Net Zero and Protection businesses. We will also move to one finance platform and finance entity.

As Programme Director you will maintain a strategic focus and ensure that the overarching vision, goals are in alignment with British Gas Services and Solutions. You will nurture complex stakeholders to deliver the programme and provide strong leadership to the team.

The Role:

You will develop and enhance our Programme Vision and Objectives ensuring programme scope and boundaries are defined along with being accountable for overall Programme Development. You will be responsible for a governance structure that drives clear accountability and responsibility.

You will manage resource allocation effectively and mitigate programme risks through identification, assessment and resolution. Prioritising high impact activities and developing a stakeholder engagement strategy (addressing sponsors, senior executives and external partners) will help you align and gain support from stakeholder.

You will need to establish and monitor key performance metrics for the programme including what success looks like. Ensuring that training and deployment plans are developed upfront is critical along with communication strategies to ensure key messages and actions are timely. Setting up business readiness and change workstreams across the programme and ensuring the right level of capability to deliver the change that is envisaged by the programme. You will balance the risk between the need for change and operational stability. Ways of working will be substantially different, more efficient and more effective post programme.

Lastly, you will also ensure credible planning across the programme takes place, taking account of interdependencies and that programme finances are managed in line with approved budgets.

The Person:

You will have major programme leadership skills gained from a large complex organisation with could either be from the energy, FMCG or utilities sectors (Telecomms; Water; etc). The key experience we are looking for is in Salesforce CRM software implementation.

Ability and experience of managing programmes with medium to high complexity including knowledge and experience of both waterfall and Agile delivery methods including dev-ops.

You will have a deep understanding of IT enabled business change and the delivery of benefits in a large, complex organisation with sometimes conflicting needs across different stakeholders.

Experience in providing strategic direction in the areas of governance, strategy, program management, vendor management and portfolio management. You will also have demonstrable experience of delivering complex projects and delivering project outcomes for impacted areas, such as process improvement, service management, IT governance, program management.

Programme governance knowledge and experience of managing dependencies across multiple projects and programmes is essential coupled with experience of significant software and integration activities.

As desire to develop Programme skills in the business and grow capability will be required. Advantageous to have experience of Dynamics Finance & Operations (F&O).
