Propositions Developer

We’re looking for a brilliant Propositions Developer to join our team of colleagues in British Gas Business, that together are setting the standard in energy supply.

The role

The role of Propositions Developer is to deliver business propositions that enable us to successfully participate in our chosen market segments, meet our customers’ needs, and drive future growth.

Orchestrating the delivery of propositions from idea to design, development, and delivery. Managing propositions in-life, tracking their value to the business and customer, and enhancing as required to ensure they remain fit for purpose, maximising opportunities, and challenges with an intent to overcome and progress.

Accountabilities

  • Manage propositions development projects, from inception to delivery.
  • Successfully deliver new propositions and improve the existing proposition portfolio.
  • Ensure the propositions you are responsible for deliver the needs of the customer and the goals of the business - Ensuring that propositions are commercially viable, meet our customers’ needs and are driving the value intended.
  • Work with all business functions to develop concepts into fully specified propositions, following the propositions development governance process and best practice.
  • Research, plan, negotiate and manage contracts with new and existing 3rd party providers as necessary to provide key capabilities and services to deliver the proposition roadmap.
  • In-life manage propositions, regularly assessing their value to the customer and the business, proposing in-life enhancements as required.
  • Effectively utilise the expertise and capabilities within the wider team to successfully deliver new propositions and improve existing proposition portfolio.
  • Work with other functional areas to build channel and operational readiness; and to plan and execute launch activities.
  • Use of competitive insight and market landscape analysis in defining a propositions strategy and design lifecycle.
  • Develop proposition performance metrics / success measures.
  • Track the performance of individual propositions; identify, recommend and implement improvement actions as required.
  • Keep aware of changes in the market, customer needs and regulatory drivers.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in B2B energy or a similar competitive market.
  • Experience of delivering innovative and effective solutions that meet customer needs and deliver commercial value.
  • Knowledge of the UK energy market; including evolving trends, customer needs and regulatory landscape.
  • Credibility and experience in building relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to multi-task, navigate complex tasks & prioritise effectively.Project management experience in delivering across multiple functions, teams and business units.
  • Good knowledge of energy products and pricing.
  • Good understanding of the customer journey, business process and systems.
  • Good knowledge of the energy market and regulatory landscape.
  • An understanding of product and propositions development processes.
  • Understanding of the commercial aims and objectives of British Gas and Centrica.
  • Capable of working effectively without supervision, to deliver work to deadlines at a consistently high level of quality.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
