Job Description

Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

About your team:

At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it.

We’ve been powering the UK’s homes and businesses for over 200 years – but supplying energy is just part of what we do. We’re making the UK greener and more energy efficient, getting closer to Net Zero. By using clever tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers, we’re making it cheaper and easier for our customers to reduce their carbon-footprint.

As the Brand and Content Marketing Manager you’ll shape how Centrica’s B2B brands show up in the market, through the creation and governance of effective brand messaging and guidelines. Centrica’s purpose is to energise a greener, fairer future - and this role will help to bring that purpose to life across our B2B brands (British Gas Business, Centrica Business Solutions, Bord Gais and PH Jones), through distinctive brand positioning, clear storytelling, strong visuals, and scalable content standards.
This role will strengthen our ability to define, govern and embed a clear and consistent brand narrative across all B2B activity. You’ll then partner with our go-to-market, digital and operational communications teams to ensure our brand messaging and positioning is integrated into multi-channel campaigns that drive awareness, consideration and demand. The new role provides clear ownership over brand positioning, and ensure we deliver high quality, consistent brand and content standards across all touchpoints.

Location - UK Flexible with occasional meetings in Windsor

Secondment to cover maternity leave

Responsibilities will include:

  • Build end-to-end modular messaging frameworks (value proposition, proof points, objection handling, sector lenses, persona angles) and reusable content components to accelerate production and ensure consistency, working independently to deliver from start to finish, but collaborating with key stakeholders as needed.

  • Transforming these messaging frameworks into high‑quality B2B content and brand assets (web copy, articles, reports, case studies, videos, sales collateral), through effective collaboration with the Go-to-Market team.

  • Partner with go‑to‑market, digital and operational comms to ensure our brand messaging is effectively integrated into their own campaign briefs, content calendars and creative executions; provide QA and sign‑off for brand consistency.

  • Support in the management of our B2B brand guidelines and visual identities across the four Centrica Business brands (British Gas Business, Centrica Business Solutions, Bord Gais and PH Jones), ensuring clarity from master brand through to propositions and products.

  • Brief and manage external agencies; ensure output meets brand standards, accessibility rules and legal requirements.

Your key competencies, skills and experience:

  • Messaging and framework expertise: Skilled at defining positioning and value propositions for B2B audiences. Shapes clear, compelling brand narratives and messaging hierarchies that work across propositions, sectors and personas. Experienced in building structured messaging frameworks that make complex information simple, repeatable and easy for others to adopt. Understands how brand positioning translates into day-to-day campaigns, content and digital.

  • Makes connections: Strong ability to see how messaging across products and teams connects with each other, and how to embed messaging frameworks across these existing frameworks.

  • Visual expression: Strong competency in developing and guiding visual brand assets. Able to brief designers and agencies with clarity, ensuring visuals reflect brand positioning and elevate the overall creative standard. Confident reviewing and refining creative work to maintain consistency and brand integrity.

  • High‑quality B2B communication: Shows demonstrable experience in producing and commissioning B2B content. Able to express complex or technical concepts in a simple, audience‑centred way, to create a unified brand experience. Understands how to structure content for clarity, accessibility and SEO best practice.

  • Collaboration and Influence: Able to champion brand standards and challenge others, while enabling fast delivery. Collaborates with product, pricing and sales to understand new offers and propositions, and then embed them into our brand and content frameworks. Partners with go‑to‑market, digital and operational communications teams to embed brand narratives into campaign briefs and assets.
