Your next exciting job opportunity –

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller is responsible for Managing the financial, treasury and payroll units ensuring all financial information is accurate and compliant with the relevant accounting and taxation standards.

In this role you will be:

  • Responsible for leading the year-end Financial Reporting process ensuring all Reports are prepared in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS.

  • Responsible for leading the internal and external audits.

  • Review and provide analysis into the monthly management accounts including profit & loss, balance sheets, cash flow and headcount.

  • Review and maintain the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations covering fixed assets, leases, prepayments, accruals and intercompany transactions.

  • Overseeing the treasury function and cash flow forecasting.

  • Ensuring the company has sufficient working capital and referring debts to third party collection agencies when necessary.

  • Developing and maintaining three-way cash flow forecast model to proactively advise the business of working capital requirements.

  • Review all local taxation compliance requirements including Payroll Tax, PAYG, BAS, FBT and yearly consolidated tax returns.

  • Provide all ad-hoc taxation compliance advice in areas of Permanent Establishments, Overseas Employment, withholding tax, transfer pricing and double taxation agreements.

  • Development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.

  • Managing the budget and forecasting process for APAC Global Business Services (GBS) units.

  • Working closely with the APAC GBS Leaders to deliver reports, analysis, forecasts and budgets.

  • Measuring APAC GBS units against internal and external benchmarks.

  • Provide change management to the finance team in systems and process improvements.

  • Develop, manage and mentor the accounting, finance officers & payroll departments to ensure appropriate Segregation of Duties and cross functional collaboration.

  • Ensure all reporting team deadlines and targets are met.

  • Dual accountability of developing and maintaining all financial systems, including the implementation of new software.

Relevant Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Degree qualified

  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated business experience working in a similar role

  • Demonstrated experience working with computerised accounting software.

  • Advanced level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite of products, in particular Microsoft Excel.

  • Proficient in management.

  • Experience with project management accounting software is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

  • Able to provide evidence of Right to Work in Australia.
