Job Description
About the role
As the Treasury Operations Team Lead, you will play a central role in ensuring the accurate, timely, and well-governed execution of treasury activities across The Adaptavist Group.
You'll sit at the intersection of Treasury Operations, Finance, and Banking Partners. You will be responsible for maintaining high operational standards, enforcing established controls, and ensuring that treasury processes run consistently and predictably.

This is an operational authority role, not just a coordination or support position.
What you'll be doing
Treasury Operations & Execution
Leading the preparation and execution of scheduled payment runs in line with approved processes and timelines
Overseeing out-of-cycle and urgent payments in accordance with established exception procedures
Supporting the issuance and administration of corporate and virtual cards in line with internal policies
Monitoring payment failures, rejections, and bank returns and ensuring timely resolution
Maintaining complete and accurate execution records and audit evidence
Quality Control & Governance
Operating and upholding defined payment readiness and validation frameworks
Reviewing submissions for completeness, accuracy, and policy compliance
Enforcing documentation and evidence standards consistently
Managing rejection, correction, and resubmission processes
Maintaining audit trails and governance artefacts
Process & Systems Stewardship
Maintaining and improving Treasury operational playbooks and SOPs
Ensuring processes are documented, current, and followed
Translating operational issues into sustainable process improvements
Supporting system usage across banking platforms, accounting systems, and internal tools
Risk & Exception Management
Tracking, documenting, and managing operational exceptions and overrides
Escalating material risks and recurring issues appropriately
Supporting risk acceptance and governance processes where required
Protecting the integrity of Treasury’s control environment
Team Leadership & Enablement
Providing day-to-day leadership to Treasury Operations Specialists
Supporting training and capability development
Ensuring consistent application of standards across the team
Reducing dependency on senior leadership through strong execution
Stakeholder Engagement
Acting as a primary operational interface with AP, Finance, and relevant business teams
Managing operational discussions professionally and constructively
Anchoring decision-making to documented standards and frameworks
Supporting audit, lender, and insurer information requests as required
Qualifications
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in treasury, finance operations, payments, or related environments
- Exposure to regulated, audited, or controlled operating environments
- Experience with payment processing, reconciliations, and banking platforms
- Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g. NetSuite, Xero) and financial controls
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation capability
- High standards of accuracy and documentation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication
- Strong organisational and process discipline
- Confident decision-making within defined authority
- Calm and professional under pressure
- Comfortable enforcing standards consistently
- High integrity and accountability
- Low-ego, team-oriented approach
