Job Description

Every day, millions of people from over 190 countries trust us to handle their precious creative ideas.

Since making our name with quick & simple file-sharing, WeTransfer has evolved to help creators organize, share, and get feedback on their work – from inception right up to delivery. We showcase the best brands to more than 80 million users per month, and our editorial platform WePresent has championed unexpected stories of creativity from around the globe and features collaborations from world-famous artists, too.

Sounds like fun, right? Allow us to sweeten the deal: as a certified B Corporation, we do all of this while using business as a force for good, balancing people, the planet, and profit along the way.

In March 2020, WeTransfer was designated as a Certified B Corporation, confirming its ambition to strengthen its values-driven approach to responsible technology and business. As a certified B Corporation™, WeTransfer supports issues such as climate change by maintaining a climate-neutral status and aiming to reduce its carbon footprint by 30% by 2025. The company is also focused on promoting diversity and inclusion and championing employee mental health.

WeTransfer is seeking a highly motivated and seasoned partnerships and business development leader to help source and manage WeTransfer’s commercial partnerships. This role is 6-month maternity leave coverage for the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships. The job scope entails developing partnership strategies, negotiating first-of-its-kind deals, managing executive-level partner counterparts, and guiding the planning and execution of these deals. This role is highly visible and cross-functional as you’ll work across Sales, Editorial, and Product, among other teams, to design and execute deals that leverage and support key elements of WeTransfer’s value proposition, including our content platform and expanding product capabilities. Reporting to the CMO, this position will work closely with a Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships, and each of you will own and manage separate portfolios of partner relationships and focus areas.

The Strategic Partnerships team was formed in 2023 with a remit to source, develop, and monetize commercial partnerships that ultimately drive WeTransfer’s subscription business. These partnerships can range from co-marketing and affiliate deals to product integrations. Our team is responsible for managing some of WeTransfer’s key brand relationships while working closely with cross-functional teams to bring those partnerships to life and unlock new opportunities for the business. Success in this role requires a high level of collaboration, a strong bias towards data and insights to drive decisions, creative thinking, and hands-on execution abilities.

Maternity cover is from April 1st to October 1st, 2024.

What you’ll do:

  • Leveraging your own network and existing WeTransfer relationships, and establishing new connections, you’ll identify and evaluate partner opportunities aligned with our Partnerships strategy while also proactively exploring new areas of business opportunity. You’ll create partner proposals and develop business cases with revenue projections to support your decisions as well as ensure alignment with our brand positioning and values

  • Guide the end-to-end partner deal cycle, from contracting and negotiation through set-up and execution of partnership initiatives. Collaborate with Advertising Sales, in-house creative studio, and marketing channel leads to design and implement omnichannel campaigns where relevant, and with Product and Product Marketing on strategic integrations

  • Nurture and expand relationships with existing partners, serving as a key point of contact and proactively identifying ways to drive partner success and retention

  • Monitor and regularly report partnership performance against established KPIs. Use data-driven insights to optimize performance

  • Manage ongoing deal pipeline tracking and deliver regular updates to senior leadership

  • Support the delivery of broader strategic marketing initiatives around raising brand awareness, shifting perception, and driving utilization of WeTransfer products

Minimum qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in partnerships or business development, ideally in consumer SaaS

  • Experience leading a team of high-performing Business Development and Operations professionals

  • Exceptional oral and written presentation skills and ability to influence senior leadership

  • Track record of working with Finance and/or Analytics teams to identify targets and KPIs and develop business cases

  • Solid understanding of the marketing funnel, particularly for subscription products, and sales lifecycles

  • Strong organization and project management skills to guide concurrent work streams and manage multiple stakeholders

  • BA in Marketing or Business, MBA preferred
