Job Description

Role Purpose

The Policy Risk Sr. Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and governing the company’s credit and risk policies for the consumer finance business. The role ensures that all lending activities are aligned with the company’s risk appetite, business objectives, and Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) requirements.
The Policy Risk Manager works closely with Credit Risk, Portfolio Risk, Compliance, Legal, Product, and Operations teams to ensure policies are clear, enforceable, scalable, and consistently closely with product, data, operations, and compliance teams to ensure effective risk assessment, monitoring, and control, enabling sustainable and scalable growth.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, review, and maintain credit risk, lending, and underwriting policies in line with the company’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Define customer eligibility criteria, approval authorities, limits, and exception handling frameworks.
  • Ensure policies are fully compliant with FRA regulations, consumer finance laws, and internal governance standards.
  • Manage policy deviations and exceptions, including documentation, approval, and reporting.
  • Ensure policies are clearly documented, communicated, and implemented across Credit, Operations, and Business teams.
  • Support product launches by defining and approving policy frameworks for new products and programs.
  • Periodically review policy effectiveness based on portfolio performance and risk indicators.
  • Recommend policy enhancements to address emerging risks, regulatory changes, or business needs.
  • Support internal audits, FRA inspections, and regulatory reviews related to policies and governance. documentation.
  • Participate in internal risk committees and policy approval forums.
  • Maintain version control, policy governance records, and approval

  • Timely development and approval of credit and risk policies for new products.
  • Reduction in policy breaches and unauthorized exceptions.
  • Effectiveness of policy implementation across credit and operations teams.
  • Turnaround time for policy updates and approvals.
  • Accuracy and clarity of policy documentation (reduced credit errors).
  • Percentage of lending decisions aligned with approved policies.
  • Successful support of product launches with approved policy frameworks.
  • Responsiveness to regulatory changes and timely policy updates.
  • Contribution to profitable growth (risk-adjusted return on portfolio).
  • Automation rate of credit decisioning processes.
  • Turnaround time for credit approvals.
