What you’ll do

Role purpose:


Management of general power maintenance contracts in the Facilities area (electricity, generators generators, PTs, UPS, AC, etc.). Management of maintenance Contracts of civil works and others regarding electrical part. Management of contracts of supply energy to VM installations (EDM). Preparation of executive projects and Management of electrical components in intervention / repair / construction works.
Management of requests related to the well-being and comfort of VM collaborators (helpdesk) regarding the electrical part.
Management of Building Management System (BMS) installed in various equipment's for monitoring purpose.
Management of electronic equipment's installed or to be installed in car parks. Management of processes inherent to energy management system based on international norm ISO 50001. Planning and management of the electrical components in the use of spaces by the VM collaborators. Support in Management of the budget allocated to the department concerning the electrical part. (locations: Head office and regional offices, Call Center, Wiccs, dealer Shops, Main Warehouse and regional Depots). note: under direct supervision of facilities manager.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that all electrical maintenance is being performed in a timely manner in accordance with current contracts and ensure that invoices are paid within deadlines;
  • Continuously interact with EDM to ensure the uninterrupted supply of power to the facilities and to make sure that invoices are received and paid on time;
  • Interacting daily with the various interlocutors in order to certify that all electrical requests were closed on time and with quality;
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety absolute rules are being complied with by service providers and report all issues of non-compliance with these rules. Identify possible suppliers, ensuring that they follow the current HSEW policies in Vodacom;
  • Plan and manage the use of spaces by VM collaborators regarding electric part. Plan and manage the BMS systems installed on various equipment's. Plan and manage electronic equipment's installed or to be installed on parking lots. Plan and manage the processes related to energy management system to international norm ISO 50001. Support on Plan and manage the annual budget for the operationalization of the department regarding electric part (OPEX & CAPEX);
  • Electrical maintenance done with quality; within the deadlines and complying with absolute rules of HSEW;
  • Projects implemented and invoices paid on time;
  • Satisfaction of VM employee’s electrical requests within the pre-agreed deadlines.


What we are looking in you:

  • Electrical engineer;
  • Leadership ability on various electrical maintenance teams;
  • Deep knowledge of power (low and medium voltage, generators, power transformers, UPS, s, etc.) focus on maintenance perspective;
  • Knowledge of HVAC system;
  • Knowledge in use of AutoCAD/BricsCad;
  • Knowledge in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Outlook,, etc.);
  • Ability to express and write in English;
  • Ability to create production reports;
  • Knowledge of date network, electronics and security systems will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge in PowerBi will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge In energy management system based on ISO50001 will be an advantage.
