About us

The future is quantum. Oxford Ionics is at the forefront of pioneering quantum computing, delivering world-leading innovation to create the most powerful, accurate, and reliable quantum systems. Quantum computing offers a radically new way of building computers that harnesses the power of quantum physics to outperform conventional supercomputers exponentially. Using our unique trapped-ion technology, we are leading the race to unleash quantum computing's unparalleled potential.

Flexible working at Oxford Ionics

🌐 We pride ourselves on promoting a flexible and hybrid working environment. We understand that the best ideas don't always happen between traditional working hours, which is why we have core hours from 10:00-16:00. Outside of that, we encourage striking the right balance to maximise productivity and well-being.

🌱 We're not just passionate about our work, but also about personal growth and exploration. We believe in uncapped annual leave because everyone deserves to recharge without counting the days. Our team members frequently travel the globe, present groundbreaking findings, give lectures, and immerse themselves in the scientific community. And the best part? We cover all travel and related expenses, ensuring our team can focus on what they do best.

🎉 We also promote a culture of excellence, determination, and innovation where everyone feels respected and valued. We work on very difficult problems but also take time to unwind through our regular social events. These include our family-friendly summer party and a winter retreat to celebrate our achievements and connect with colleagues and their families.

Approach to diversity & inclusion

We are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion because we believe that integrating diverse experiences, ideas, and perspectives within our team drives innovation.

🤞Our Commitment

Our strength lies in our diversity. Our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion is integral to our mission of creating groundbreaking quantum computing technology. We strive to build an inclusive environment where every team member feels valued, respected, and empowered, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

✍️ Our Approach

We have established policies and practices to ensure all team members have equal opportunities to thrive. We prioritise creating a supportive and welcoming workplace where diverse perspectives are not only heard but celebrated and where continuous learning is promoted. We empower our employees to bring their authentic selves to work by encouraging open dialogue and creating an environment where everyone can succeed.

👏 Our Actions

We turn our commitment into actions. We regularly review and update our policies to reflect our dedication to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We partner with professional networks to stay updated on best practices and actively participate in events that promote these values. We conduct regular assessments to measure our progress and maintain accountability through transparent reporting. We offer enhanced benefits such as gender-neutral parental leave, flexible working options, and uncapped annual leave to support our team's diverse needs.
