Job Description
Location: UK based, remote-first (with monthly travel to London)
At Unmind, we're here to create better mental health.
We believe mental health should be a source of strength, not struggle – for people, teams, and entire organisations.
We combine science, technology, and human care to help companies like Uber, Disney, Major League Baseball, and the NHS improve mental health and drive performance.
Now we're looking for more brilliant people to help us do it.
🚀 Our Values
We're building a company where ambition and empathy go hand in hand.
Outpace the rest – Move fast. Deliver excellence.
Stronger together – We go further, faster, together.
Client first – We win, when our clients win.
🌈 Inclusion & Belonging
We're building a place where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported – and where difference is celebrated.

🎯 The Role - Senior Analytics Engineer
The core mission of data analytics is twofold: (1) provide actionable insights to all Unmind teams that drive product and business decisions and help build the best version of Unmind; and (2) provide analytics to our clients through the analytics product within the platform—helping clients understand how their employees are using Unmind, and the impact it’s having.
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will own company‑critical data domains end‑to‑end, set standards for modelling, testing, and governance, and turn ambiguous business questions into scalable data products. You will mentor other practitioners and influence product, commercial, and operational strategy through trustworthy, reproducible insights.
We’re also continuously evolving our analytics stack to make smart use of modern tooling, including AI-assisted workflows (Claude Code skills) and dashboards-as-code (Apache Superset). You’ll help shape this next stage, improving how we deliver reliable insights quickly while keeping our data products well-governed, maintainable and scalable.
Our stack includes AWS, dlt-hub for ingestion, Dagster for orchestration, dbt for modelling, Snowflake as our warehouse, OpenAI for LLM processing, Claude Code for AI-assisted coding, Python for analysis and processing, and Apache Superset for BI. You don’t need hands-on experience with every tool; we’re more interested in strong analytics engineering fundamentals and curiosity to learn.
In this role you'll get to:
Own - You will take the architectural lead for the key data models in the company, and balance between technical excellence and delivery of value that brings you closer to your team's North Star.
Build - You will build high performance and reusable data models for our data warehouse to ensure end-users are performing analysis with data that is accurate and intuitively structured.
Collaborate - You will engage with different departments (e.g. Product and Marketing) to identify opportunities for leveraging and expanding the organisation’s data assets in order to inform business solutions. This will include partnering with cross-functional teams to analyse user journeys across the app and develop models that help evaluate ROI and other key performance outcomes.
Empower - You will empower teams and decision-makers across the organisation by developing sophisticated data models and performing advanced statistical analysis. By ensuring models are both scalable and intuitive, you will facilitate deeper data exploration and analysis, driving insights that inform strategic decisions and operational efficiencies. This role is pivotal in enhancing our data-driven culture, encouraging the use of complex analytical techniques to uncover trends, predict outcomes, and guide informed business actions.
Governance - Introduce lightweight, effective governance for metrics definitions, documentation, and data access.
🌟 About You
In the spirit of equity and continuous growth, we invite you to remove education from your CV. Qualifications are not a factor in our decision-making. However, some experience in the following is important for this position:
Advanced SQL and dbt skills to clean, transform and validate data from Data warehouses or Data Lakes
Experience and knowledge in data warehousing and data modelling best practices
Experience using Python for data analysis, automation or data quality workflows would be a plus.
Experience in effectively using reporting tools to provide actionable insights to business teams
Ability to understand & translate business requirements into analytical projects while building strong relationships with stakeholders
Comfortable working in an small cross-disciplinary team where you will be the subject expert.
Experience of working in an agile environment with good data analytics standards (e.g. coding and analytics best practices, PR reviews,…)
Passion for mental health, tech-for-good, and generally improving people’s lives.
Tip for candidates: If you're unsure whether to apply – do. We know great people don't always tick every box.
