Job Description
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is instrumental in the delivery of company revenue targets through development of opportunities for company Products and Services in the Higher Education Sector.
BDMs work with multiple areas of the business to successfully identify, propose and contract clients for the company Products and Services whilst enabling those areas to perform their roles without issue or interruption and in conformance with defined Service levels.
BDMs are expected to be fully conversant with and competent (to the required level) in all company Products and Services whilst at the same time maintaining a keen interest in and knowledge of the HE Sector.
Responsibilities:
Deliver the agreed sales target(s) for the year/month/quarter
Maintain client and potential client satisfaction pre, during and post sales
Maintain accurate forecasts of opportunities
Update Simitive CRM with all contacts, conversations and client information
Ensure accurate and timely handovers to Projects in line with Simitive standards
Adhere to Simitive sales process and approvals at all times
Ensure compliance with all company Security processes, Policies, requirements and certifications including but not limited to ISO27001, Cyber Essentials.
Skills
BDMs are expected to be fully conversant with and competent (to the required level) in all Products and Services deployed by the company whilst at the same time maintaining a keen interest in and detailed knowledge of the HE sector and competition.
Completion and pass of Simitive HE Sector Induction training
Completion of Paretto Sales Excellence training
Completion of any other sales training identified as part of PDR
Demonstrable skill in accurately forecasting sales through adherence to Simitive sales and qualification processes
Demonstrates initiative to uncover new opportunities; actively attracts interest of potential clients
Ability to strategise the steps to progress opportunities through the sales process to completion
Judgement to engage other team members in the sales process as required to maximise chances of winning

Has excellent knowledge of the sector, the concerns and pressures that are currently within HE and FE and how Simitive can work with these institutions to alleviate these strains.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures at all times and ensures that team members do the same.
Be an advocate for Simitive at all times.
Willing to travel, including potential international opportunities.
Commits the time and effort required to meet the needs of the role and company
