Job Description
Strengthscope is actively seeking to maintain and increase the diversity of our team and encourage candidates to apply if they meet even some of the criteria below.
Responsibilities & Duties:
The core function of a Business Development Representative is simple: to generate new business opportunities. This role is focused on prospecting, qualifying, researching, booking introductory meetings, and collaborating closely with the New Business Team Lead to close business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prospecting: we have a target ‘ICP’ (Ideal Customer Profile) that you will be asked to research and approach via phone, email and LinkedIn
- Lead qualification: our Marketing team will generate warm leads through email marketing, events, webinar sign-ups, and resource downloads - your task will be to diligently follow-up on marketing activity and instigate sales conversations
- Researching: to gather information that allows us to ascertain whether an ICP business is in the market to buy through astute questioning with the client
- Booking meetings: a core KPI will be centred around the number of introductory meetings you book in the diary, to be held with the New Business Team Lead
- Delivering your prospecting sales plan: producing enough outbound activity (phone, email, LinkedIn) to book 12-15 self-generated meetings per month
- Record-keeping: conscientiously updating all activities on Salesforce, including call notes, email correspondence, and proposals sent to clients
- Showcasing Strengthscope®: where appropriate, conducting online demonstrations of our assessments and training solutions
- Providing feedback: closely collaborating with Sales and Marketing teams to share critical client feedback and market trends that can help the department win more business.
Skills & Attributes:
If you have a mix of the following skills and attributes, you might be just who we’re looking for:
- 1-2 years experience in a sales or a customer-facing role
- A degree in a relevant subject is preferable, but not essential
- Comfortable and experienced with multi-channel outreach: this doesn’t daunt you and you’re ready for the challenge!
- Skilled in booking meetings with target market prospects ‘from cold’: you know how to qualify and nurture your own prospects and you feel energised when speaking to new people
- A flair for presentation: you love commanding an audience and having the opportunity to demonstrate how you can meet clients’ needs with your solutions
- A great listener: you are skilled in making sure the client feels heard, and you ask questions that help drill down into their critical pain points
- A team player that is ready to pitch in and help others: we’re a small but growing team –collaboration both within the sales team and with other departments is key to success
- Someone who deals with their admin and takes ownership of it: you understand how vital our CRM system is, and you take follow-up seriously
- You have a growth mindset and you are humble: you accept that things aren’t always perfect, and you look for solutions to help with continuous improvement across the business.
