The Role
ScreenCloud apps work just like your phone’s apps, but for the TV. We have over 70 apps to date, ranging from Instagram and Facebook, to live streaming, menu boards and calendar apps. As Senior Tech Lead in Belfast, you will be the leading person in Belfast representing our full Apps teams.
Apps is made up of multiple cross-functional teams, where each is wholly responsible for any project it takes on, meaning Product/Design/Dev/QA all in the one team, with full power to shape their own project.
You’ll help us drive technical excellence and foster team autonomy when it comes to building and maintaining our modern web apps.
And of course being a product for screens everywhere, the end result is a super visual experience that’s instantly rewarding when you see it land in customer’s hands and what they create on top.


  • Provide leadership and guidance to a group of around 20 Belfast-based engineers, QAs and designers, usually working as 3 or 4 self-contained teams with their own projects and goals. Ensure cohesive team dynamics and effective delivery across them all.
  • Review and assess team structures, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement, streamline operations, and enhance productivity.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging teams to adopt the latest technologies, including AI assistants like Github Copilot and ChatGPT, to optimize workflows and project outcomes.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Tech Leads, assisting in the resolution of complex technical challenges and ensuring projects are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively, with a focus on quality and user experience.
  • Conduct regular reviews of project progress and deliverables to identify potential risks or issues early on and proactively de-risk these.
  • As a Manager, champion the personal and professional development of Tech Leads and Staff Engineers, setting clear goals and expectations, and providing feedback and support.
  • Lead by example with a positive and inspiring leadership style, fostering a work environment where innovation thrives and team members feel valued and motivated.


  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of inspiring and guiding teams to achieve their best.
  • Demonstrated expertise in modern web development frameworks and technologies, with a comprehensive understanding of both front-end and back-end development.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Experience in project and stakeholder management, with the ability to adapt processes and workflows to meet changing needs and objectives.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development, both for self and for team members, with a focus on adopting innovative technologies and practices.
  • The ability to foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and mutual respect among all team members.
