About the role

We’re looking for a senior lawyer to join our legal team on a fixed term basis for 6 months. You will be responsible for proactively tackling the diverse legal challenges faced by a rapidly scaling tech company. Reporting into the CFO, you will be involved in a variety of high profile and strategic work as well as leading a 4 person legal team, made up of a Paralegal, two Legal Counsels and one Senior Legal Counsel. You will lead in providing legal and compliance support to teams from across the business, from brand and digital marketing to payments.

Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Agreements & Negotiations: Draft and negotiate key commercial agreements, partnership deals, and licences that fuel our business growth.
  • Legal Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: Managing our FCA regulated activities in the payments space and liaising with regulators (e.g. the ASA or the ICO) when required.
  • People Team Support: Partnering with the People Team to ensure our employment practices are compliant. Advising on employee contracts, terminations, and other HR initiatives.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Overseeing our IP portfolio in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Legal Team: Contributing to guiding and mentoring the legal team, managing their workflow including through our legal Helpdesk.
  • Corporate: Managing co-sec activities and supporting the CFO on corporate matters, including employee equity and corporate transactions.
