Job Description

What you'll bring to the team

Director, Transformation – Growth

Shape the Future of Growth at Merlin

At Merlin, we're on an ambitious journey to become the world's most loved family escape. To help us achieve that vision, we're looking for an exceptional transformation leader to join us as our Director of Transformation, Growth.

Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, this is a high-profile leadership role at the heart of Merlin's growth agenda. Partnering closely with the Chief Growth Officer, Executive Committee, and senior leaders across the business, you'll define and deliver strategic transformation initiatives that accelerate growth, unlock value, and build the capabilities needed for the future.

This is a rare opportunity to drive meaningful change across a global organisation, influencing strategic decisions, leading large-scale transformation programmes, and helping shape the next chapter of Merlin's success.

What You'll Do

As Director of Transformation, Growth, you'll be responsible for leading and enabling transformation across Merlin's Growth division, ensuring our most important strategic priorities are successfully delivered.

You'll:

  • Define and deliver Merlin's global growth transformation strategy, working alongside executive leaders across the organisation.
  • Lead a portfolio of complex transformation programmes, ensuring clear prioritisation, strong governance, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Drive value creation by focusing on performance, benefits realisation, return on investment, and long-term capability building.
  • Lead and evolve our Transformation and Programme Management Office, creating an environment that enables delivery rather than bureaucracy.
  • Champion operational excellence, continuously improving how we plan, execute, and deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Accelerate the adoption of digital, data, automation, and AI capabilities to improve business performance and decision-making.
  • Partner with leaders across Finance, Technology, Data, Operations, and Creative teams to ensure transformation is seamlessly embedded into the business.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Why Merlin?

This role offers the opportunity to influence transformation at the highest level of the organisation.

You'll work directly with senior leaders to shape strategic priorities, modernise how we operate, and unlock growth opportunities across our global business. From leveraging digital and AI capabilities to delivering major change initiatives, your work will have a lasting impact on Merlin's future success.

If you're excited by the challenge of driving enterprise transformation in a dynamic, purpose-led organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to connect transformation activity to business performance and growth.
  • Expertise in programme and portfolio management, with experience across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at Executive Committee and Board level.
  • Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing teams.

  • A passion for innovation and a curiosity about emerging technologies that can drive competitive advantage.
