Job Description

You will strengthen our team and our emergency response organization's ability to handle crises and emergency situations for our customers. We are looking for someone who has a great commitment to Crisis Management and Emergency Preparedness. You have strong pedagogical skills and a high degree of communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently. We are looking for a person with a solid background and experience in emergency management at operational, tactical and strategic levels. You have commercial flair and will contribute to strengthening our customer relationships through your expertise. You will have general knowledge of the organisation of emergency preparedness in society. It is an advantage if you have experience from the energy, oil and gas industry.

The position is varied and involves teaching, counselling, development of courses and teaching materials as well as participation in on-call arrangements from our emergency response centre. After training, you will be able to fill the role of emergency manager for our emergency response teams and handle sharp emergency situations from our emergency response center in Sandnes. Travel must be expected both nationally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and carry out training and exercises in emergency preparedness and crisis management.

  • Advice to management and operational units in emergency planning and implementation.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of emergency preparedness strategies and systems.

  • Participate in and lead emergency preparedness work during sharp incidents.

  • Coordinate with internal and external actors in the context of emergency preparedness.

  • Be a key resource in the professional environment and contribute to competence development.

  • Lead commercial customer projects

  • Development and maintenance of emergency preparedness plans and documentation

  • Evaluate and create mastery for personnel in emergency response organizations

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency preparedness analyses and risk assessments

  • Coordinate and support our customers with advice, training and exercises

We are looking for

  • Higher education in a relevant subject area (e.g. societal security, pedagogy, crisis management).

  • Documented experience from operational and strategic emergency management.

  • Experience with teaching, training and dissemination – familiar with pedagogical learning principles to create mastery.

  • Good knowledge of national emergency preparedness structures and relevant regulations.

  • Ability to think holistically and strategically, while dealing with operational challenges.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

  • Good communication skills in demanding situations

  • Ability to take leadership in demanding situations.

  • Advantage of knowledge of CIM , IT tools for crisis management
