About the role

At Maersk, we are transforming the logistics industry by simplifying global supply chains and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

We are looking for a Billing Assistant to support our Finance Operations (FINOPS) team by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, supporting financial processes, and contributing to overall operational efficiency. This role is key in maintaining financial accuracy and preventing revenue leakage while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate billing processes aligned with company standards.
  • Support invoice generation, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor and resolve billing discrepancies, ensuring minimal revenue leakage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Customer Experience, Operations, Finance) to ensure smooth end-to-end processes.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting support.
  • Maintain proper documentation and compliance with financial controls and policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize billing and financial workflows.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment on rates, contracts, and billing requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in billing, finance operations, or accounts receivable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced English level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics, shipping, or shared service centers.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Understanding of invoicing processes and financial controls.
