Job Description

The Role

Unique in its kind, we are looking for a dedicated professional to help lead our company’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts, aspiring to strengthen our commitments across all fronts as a sustainability expert in the tech industry. The ESG Project Manager sits at the intersection of strategy and implementation, playing a decisive role in shaping our ESG activities and driving meaningful internal and external communications. This role is vital to influencing our customers, suppliers, and investors and significantly impacts our environmental footprint, diversity and inclusion efforts, and good governance activities.

What you'll do

  • Drive the implementation of our ESG strategy and targets, identifying what matters to both the company and its stakeholders by deep-diving into peer benchmarking and engaging with stakeholders like our investors.
  • Advocate for the company's internal ESG ambitions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration within the ESG workstream teams, working cohesively with suppliers to comprehend the environmental footprint and identify emission reduction opportunities.
  • Work within a dynamic project team in close association with the Executive Board and other business functions, including People & Organization, Legal, Marketing etc., to infuse sustainability across various business units.
  • Manage both internal and external ESG reporting and assessment, responding to ESG inquiries, and maintaining transparency about the company's annual ESG performance.
  • This position can be performed remotely or at any of our chosen locations in Germany.

What you bring to the table

  • First proven experience in the sustainability field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines such as Sustainable Development, Environmental Sciences, Human Resources or Finance or Economics. Any relevant professional qualifications are a plus.
  • Prior experience in dealing with sustainability matters within a corporate or consultancy environment desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG and sustainability topics. The application of various sustainability frameworks and accreditations is a plus.
  • Experience in carbon footprinting and an understanding of common carbon footprint methodologies (e.g. GHG Protocol). GHG reduction targets and Net Zero strategies experience advantageous.
  • Robust project management skills involving managing multiple simultaneous projects and engaging a diverse set of business stakeholders.
  • A keen understanding of current best practices in areas like climate change, diversity, responsible sourcing, and governance, coupled with first experience in these areas.
  • An understanding or experience of leading sustainability practices as they pertain to the software and services industry would be beneficial.
