Join Our Team as an Environmental Reporting Advisor (Fixed Term Contract)

Are you passionate about the environment and sustainability? Do you have a knack for data analysis and problem-solving? Centrica is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Environmental Reporting Advisor to join our team on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This role is crucial in coordinating and maintaining our corporate environmental performance data collection, analysis, and reporting to meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders for ESG regulatory and voluntary purposes.

Location: Flexible with some travel to Windsor

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Administering our group-wide environmental data collection, reporting system, and processes.

  • Managing routine data reviews, quality checks, and annual external assurance.

  • Contributing to external reporting, including Centrica’s annual report & Data Centre, CDP, and SASB.

  • Supporting environmental performance reporting to senior internal stakeholders, including the Board and leadership team.

  • Implementing and ensuring ongoing compliance with ESG legislation and disclosures, including CSRD and ISSB.

  • Recruiting and managing a Year-In-Industry student (YINI), as required.

  • Assisting business units and functions in developing and executing their environmental performance management and reporting plans.

  • Engaging colleagues in environmental programmes, including communications and events.

Who Will You Be Working With?

  • Line Manager: Regular weekly meetings and ad hoc discussions to track progress and actions.

  • Year-In-Industry Student: Daily contact and support to help them effectively undertake their work and support their personal development.

  • Business Unit Environmental Colleagues and Data Providers: Ensuring accurate, timely, and complete reporting.

  • Wider Team and Other Functions: Collaborating to support the business and our customers towards becoming net zero.

What Do We Need From You?

  • Some experience in greenhouse gas accounting and an understanding of human impacts on the environment.

  • University degree level or equivalent, preferably in a STEM subject.

  • Passion for the environment and sustainability.

  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent numerical ability.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to manage multiple activities and timelines concurrently.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confidence with software systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Adaptability and flexibility.
