At evaluagent we are looking for our next home-based Lead Engineer! 🚀

We're evaluagent, a UK-based tech scale-up with a global footprint, serving esteemed brands like Samsung, Ubisoft, First Central, and Vitality Health. Following a recent $20m Series A funding round, we're poised for exponential growth, having recently launched our refreshed AI-fuelled SaaS platform in 2024.

Overview:

💰 Salary - In the region of £65,000, negotiable based on experience

📍 Location - Home based in the UK

🕒 Type - Full-time, 40 hours, Permanent

👥 Reports to - Head of Engineering

👥 Direct reports - x4 Platform Engineers

Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and Inspire: Collaborate with the Head of Engineering to define and execute our technical strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals as we scale.
    • Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a remote-team of high-performing platform engineers including recruitment, mentorship, and performance management, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
    • Team Development: Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the engineering team, ensuring that it meets or exceeds performance metrics and goals.
    • Platform Development: Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of our B2B SaaS platform as we scale up.
    • Strategic Guidance: Partner with stakeholders, including our product team, to set technical roadmaps, guiding engineers to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.
    • Continuous Improvement: Guide the engineering team to ensure that development practices are aligned with industry standards and best practices, including agile development, continuous integration and delivery, and test automation.
    • Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, uphold high standards of code quality and maintainability.
    • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep up to date with the latest trends and best practices in software engineering, applying your knowledge to drive innovation and excellence in our platform development.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
    • Proficiency in PHP and Laravel framework.
    • Experience of relational databases.
    • 2+ years of experience in managing engineering teams.
    • Strong understanding of modern software development practices and tools.
    • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure providers (AWS).
    • Experience designing and building highly scalable distributed systems.
    • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
    • Proven ability to motivate and mentor.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of projects.

Flexible working week
Work from anywhere scheme – up to 120 days in any 12 month period
Enhanced sick pay – 4 weeks full pay, followed by 4 weeks half pay
Co-working space allowance – £60 per employee per month
