Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for an Energy Lawyer to join ClientEarth’s Resources, Energy, and Mobility (REM) System Group. You will use your expertise to support and implement strategic legal interventions, including litigation and advocacy, with the objective of a profound transformation of energy systems. You will be involved in all of . As a part of the larger ClientEarth organisation, you will have ample opportunity to collaborate with lawyers from many countries focusing on a variety of subject matter

Meet your Manager

In this role you will be managed by Natascha Hospedales. Natascha joined ClientEarth in 2021. She worked on ecosystem governance in West Africa before joining the Resources, Energy and Mobility Group in Europe to lead the Emissions Reductions team and our work on addressing the environmental impacts of AI.

Main Duties

  • Contribute to the development, and implementation of litigation and advocacy projects to achieve the objectives of ClientEarth’s energy work in Germany and Europe
  • Carry out legal research and analysis concerning laws, policies, and political developments relevant to energy systems
  • Collaborate with other NGOs, decision makers, technical experts, and civil servants, and other relevant entities

Role requirements

  • Fluent (CEFR level C2) in German
  • First and Second State Law Examinations
  • Professional experience working in German energy law
  • Experience of building and maintaining networks and relationships with a wide variety of external stakeholders
