About you

You’ll be joining the Technical Author team as Technical Author. Reporting to the Technical Author Manager, you’ll be a part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently.

As Technical Author you will be helping the development teams understand our products and how we integrate with APIs efficiently. You might not be able to code, but you know the difference between an object and a field and will need an inquisitive mindset, so you are comfortable asking all the questions needed to provide solutions.

Switching gears, you will be creating content targeted at operational users interacting with our UI and will be condensing and replaying information succinctly using writing, diagrams, images, and sometimes videos.

Our Technical Author team is a small group of passionate and supportive writers who really want to help each other grow.

And you’ll be joining one of the fastest-growing tech company in the UK, according to Deloitte Fast 50.

You will be

• Creating and curating API documentation (like this: clearbank.github.io), operational processes, and customer comms while interacting with development, support, and operational teams
• Creating technical diagrams such as architecture, flow, and sequence diagrams
• Using industry leading tools to produce and publish HTML documentation that gets the information to customers as effectively as possible
• Adhering to existing processes, the style guide (Microsoft Manual of Style), and writing team conventions for ClearBank-specific terminology

Requirements

What we are looking for

• An enquiring and logical mind with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to engage with various levels of seniority, both internally and externally
• Ability to understand complex technical information and business processes
• Ability to create concise, topic-based content maintaining clear separations between concept and task, and between style and content
• Previous experience of creating technical documentation for complex technical software
• An understanding of agile software development and familiarity with APIs
• Experience of using Git
• Experience and a good working knowledge with these tools (or equivalent) is preferred: MadCap Flare, Word, Camtasia, Snagit, draw.io, Visual Studio, GitHub, and Postman
