Leighton

Software Development

We bring people and technology together to deliver successful software applications.

Software Development

For as long as we can remember (and we’ve been around for over 32 years) organisations have struggled to deliver digital change. That isn’t a criticism, it’s the reality, we get it, it is difficult. Technology continues to change, user expectations (and those of your colleagues) continue to rise, meanwhile you often don't have the time or the right expertise to get the next project over the line. That is where we come in.

Our purpose is simple. We make the improbable, possible in everything we do. Why? We're on a mission to help businesses and their customers thrive by building high-performing teams and developing successful software applications. To do this we need go-getters, thinkers and doers. We need Agile Delivery Managers, Technologists and everyone in between. We need people who want to make a difference for our customers. That is where you come in.

Approach to inclusion

Colleague feedback on our diversity and inclusion efforts has been really positive but as a Senior Leadership Team we know we could be more intentional in our efforts, we partnered with #poweredbydiversity in 2023 to help us understand more about strengths we can build on and opportunities for improvement. This work will drive a more intentional strategy for us, especially as we continue to scale. We've started more earnest conversations about allyship and neurodiversity recently and we've recognised that diversity is lacking in our leadership and support teams. Recognising the issue is the first step in addressing it.

Flexible working at Leighton

Flexible working at Leighton is based on a culture of trust and empowerment. We recognise that flexible working means something different to everyone and so work on the basis that if you're delivering and you and your customers are happy, it's working! Most of our team are placed on customer projects so considering the impact of your flexible choices on them, and the team you're working with is important too. As everyone works remotely, we also create regular opportunities both on-line and in-person to meet and connect with your Leighton colleagues, many of these events are optional so you can pick and mix what you need to thrive.

People & Community

One of the things I value most about working at Leighton is the flexibility it offers. As someone who prioritizes both career and family, having the ability to shape my workday in a way that supports my home life is a game-changer. Whether it’s being there for school drop-offs, a mid-day school event, or simply having a bit more balance, this flexibility allows me to truly be present for my family.
What sets Leighton apart is the trust they place in their people. There’s a genuine culture of respect here, one that understands that life doesn’t pause outside of 9 to 5. It’s clear that Leighton is a family-oriented company, and that shows not only in how they support work-life balance, but also in how they bring people together.
From fun events to team get-togethers, there’s always something happening that brings a sense of connection and community to the workplace. These moments, big and small, remind me why I’m proud to be part of this team.
At the end of the day, it's not just about the work we do, it's about who we get to do it with, and the kind of environment we do it in. And at Leighton, that environment is built on trust, flexibility, and a real sense of belonging.
