Job Description

We are Centrica! We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising a cleaner, greener future. Working here is #MoreThanACareer - we’re powered by purpose. Together we can make an impact that will truly change tomorrow. Whether you’re developing cutting-edge green tech, helping customers on the front line or simplifying operations behind the scenes.

Your work here isn’t just a job – it’s a mission. We all play a vital role in energising a greener, fairer future.

Due to growth, we have a brilliant new opportunity for a Strategy and Corporate Development Manager. You will be joining our Strategy team who are responsible for setting the strategic vision, ambition and direction for New Business and Net Zero, and translating this into the business plans, performance measures and budgets that will be used to track delivery and measure success.

You will be responsible for owning the delivery of strategic projects, working directly with members of our Leadership Team and their teams to structure strategic questions, identify and complete analysis, and present recommendations. You will also assist in Commercial and Financial analysis of inorganic growth opportunities (M&A), including market analysis, valuation and due diligence of both established and start-up companies.

Location: With our Flexible First working arrangements we empower our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them – meaning location doesn’t need to be a barrier. Preferably you will be based within a commutable distant of our Windsor office but this role can be mostly based at home with occasional meetings required at our Centrica sites.

  • Support follow-through of strategy to execution as needed, to ensure business delivery.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure alignment on the impact of the latest plans and forecasts.
  • Provide strategy support and challenge to the functions as appropriate, engaging in the key strategic discussions and supporting during the planning cycle.
  • Provide liaison with the Corporate Strategy team at Centrica and BG Energy teams to ensure close alignment, lead on development and engagement throughout the annual planning cycle (Strategic Shape).
  • Support M&A activities throughout their lifecycle: from target scanning and valuation through to acquisition and integration. Collaborate with wider Centrica teams including M&A, Finance, Legal, HR, etc.
  • Work with the communications team to ensure strategy messages are cascaded across the organisation.
  • Coach and develop junior members of staff and direct reports.

Who are we looking for?

  • Experienced in corporate strategy and / or business planning with strong analytical skillset.
  • Experience in M&A transactions: valuation, Commercial Due Diligence, integration.
  • Track record of delivering projects, presentations, or reports for senior management with limited oversight.
  • Track record of working in high-performing teams and managing senior stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Centrica, Net Zero, its competitive environment and the energy value chain would be advantageous.
