Job Description

About the role

This is a key role supporting the integration planning for the proposed joint venture between BT International and Verizon. The Integration Planning Manager will provide the structure, coordination and discipline needed to keep a complex, international programme moving at pace.

Working closely with the Designate CEO, Integration Director, senior leaders, functional workstreams and external advisers, the role will act as a central point of coordination for the Integration Management Office. It will help leaders stay aligned, ensure governance operates effectively, maintain accurate programme information and turn discussions into clear decisions, actions and delivery.

What you’ll be doing

Integration leadership support

  • Support the Designate CEO and Integration Director in the day-to-day operation of the integration programme, anticipating requirements and ensuring priorities are translated into coordinated activity.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact across the programme, connecting leaders, workstreams and advisers and helping to unblock issues that could slow progress.
  • Handle sensitive commercial, organisational and people information with sound judgement, discretion and appropriate confidentiality.

Integrated planning and coordination

  • Own and maintain the integrated programme plan, bringing together milestones, deliverables, dependencies and decision points across BT, Verizon and external partners.
  • Coordinate inputs across functional workstreams, including strategy, operations, technology, finance, people, communications and change, identifying gaps, overlaps and interdependencies.
  • Track progress against agreed priorities and milestones, escalating emerging risks, issues or slippage to the appropriate programme leader.

Governance, decisions and actions

  • Plan and coordinate leadership meetings, governance forums, workshops and planning sessions, ensuring participants are prepared and focused on the decisions and outcomes required.
  • Prepare agendas, briefing packs and supporting materials, capturing decisions, actions, owners and due dates accurately.
  • Maintain clear governance records and provide disciplined follow-up so that commitments are progressed and decisions are reflected in the programme plan.

Programme reporting and communications

  • Maintain core programme documentation, reporting and governance materials so there is a reliable and current source of programme information.
  • Produce concise, high-quality executive presentations, briefings, status updates and stakeholder communications.
  • Translate detailed workstream information into clear messages on progress, priorities, dependencies, risks and decisions required.

Stakeholder and workshop management

  • Build effective working relationships across BT, Verizon, external advisers and other programme stakeholders, supporting an open and collaborative way of working.
  • Organise programme events and workshops end to end, including objectives, participants, materials, logistics, outputs and follow-up.
  • Adapt plans and ways of working as the integration programme evolves, while maintaining pace, control and attention to detail.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Programme planning and coordination: able to bring multiple workstreams, milestones and dependencies into a coherent, practical plan.
  • Governance and delivery discipline: strong action, decision, risk and issue management with rigorous follow-through.
  • Executive communication: able to create clear, concise and accurate briefings, presentations and updates for senior audiences.
  • Stakeholder management: confident building trusted relationships and working across organisational and company boundaries.
  • Organisation and prioritisation: able to manage competing demands, maintain control of detail and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Judgement and discretion: trusted to work with confidential information and operate effectively in a high-profile environment.
  • Digital capability: advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams; familiarity with programme planning and collaboration tools is desirable

Experience you'd be expected to have

  • Experience supporting a large, complex programme, transformation, transaction, integration or PMO environment.
  • A strong track record of coordinating senior governance, leadership meetings or cross-functional delivery activity.
  • Experience maintaining programme plans, reporting, actions, decisions, risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Experience preparing high-quality executive materials and communicating complex information clearly.
  • Confidence working directly with senior executives, functional leaders and external partners in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience of international, cross-company or post-transaction integration activity would be advantageous but is not essential.

Personal Attributes & Success Measures

Personal Attributes

  • Highly organised, structured and dependable, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the confidence to anticipate needs and take ownership.
  • Calm and adaptable when priorities shift or information is incomplete.
  • Collaborative and relationship-focused, while willing to challenge constructively when greater clarity or action is needed.
  • Professional, resilient and comfortable working at pace with senior stakeholders.

Success Measures

  • The integrated programme plan is accurate, current and gives leaders clear visibility of priorities, milestones and dependencies.
  • Governance forums are well prepared, efficiently run and focused on the decisions and actions needed to maintain momentum.
  • Actions, decisions, risks, issues and deliverables are captured accurately, owned and progressed on time.
  • Executive reporting and communications are timely, concise and consistently high quality.
  • Stakeholders across BT, Verizon and partner organisations remain aligned and informed.
