About us
Whether representing industry, connecting our members with business opportunities or driving forward innovation and growth, ADS is at the forefront of an array of activities, events and programmes that benefit our members.
ADS’s 1200+ members are the custodians of a world-leading advanced engineering and services workforce.
Our aims are to expand this unique workforce capability and national advantage by delivering sector investment and knowledge to the frontiers of advanced manufacturing. ADS promotes its members in lifting the limits to a new future built on clean growth, sovereign capabilities for peace, and opening space to all.
Collectively ADS will lead our sectors to remove the barriers to the UK expansion of our workforce as a route to economic rebalancing and productivity gains, helping make the advanced economy fairer and stronger. It will achieve this by bringing together local policy leaders around detailed plans to expand engineering jobs into new communities, bringing in real, quality jobs and purposeful, proud careers.
Farnborough International Limited (FIL), which runs the Farnborough International Airshow, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ADS Group Ltd.
Flexible working at ADS
ADS’s people are our most important asset. As a trade association, the value we offer our members across all four of our sectors is built on the services we provide, the access we can offer and the relationships we hold. We are the voice of our industries, building partnerships and supporting our members to develop new opportunities in the UK and around the world, helping them to grow and to sustain more than 400,000 jobs. We aim to achieve a standard that compares with the best of our peers in any sector.
Since the return to regular office work following the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, we have successfully trialed a hybrid working system across all our sites and announced a new extended remote working policy.
And in 2022 we rolled out a much broader package of enhancements to the benefits we offer our employees. These enhancements include significant improvements to the paid leave we offer to new parents, as well as additional holiday linked to long service, and additional flexibility such as the option to work a nine-day fortnight, or to purchase additional annual leave.
We hope all our employees find them beneficial, and a signal that we value our whole team at ADS, and we hope they will support staff in developing their careers here as well as achieving a good balance between work and home lives.
Approach to diversity & inclusion
ADS Group celebrates diversity in all its forms.
At ADS, we believe that when people feel respected and included they are more innovative, productive and successful.
