Job Description

Locations: Manchester OR London

About the role

You’ll join BT’s UK Sales & Commercial Strategy & Planning team, supporting a business that serves organisations ranging from small businesses through to companies with 250+ employees. With significant growth and transformation ambitions in this segment, this role plays an important part in helping the business deliver against its plans and continue to evolve how it operates.

Working within the Strategy & Planning team, you’ll be part of a central function that brings together all activity across the business into a single, joined-up plan. Acting as a “mission control,” the team ensures that business and financial plans are clearly defined, tracked, and delivered, while also supporting key programmes and projects that enable transformation.

As a Business Planning & Project Professional, you’ll work in close partnership with teams across the organisation to drive accountability, support delivery, and keep key priorities on track. You’ll operate across multiple stakeholders and levels, helping to ensure that plans stay aligned, risks are understood, and the business continues to move forward.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the development of integrated plans to deliver the medium-term plan (MTP)
  • Lead and deliver projects/initiatives, underpinning growth ambitions
  • Coordinate key activities across the business to ensure timelines and submissions are met
  • Maintain and manage a centralised “one truth” business roadmap, covering commercial and transformation activity
  • Track progress against plans, identifying delays and supporting actions to bring delivery back on track
  • Drive accountability across teams by challenging performance and ensuring ownership of outcomes
  • Identify risks and issues within plans and communicate their impact to governance forums
  • Support the planning and delivery of executive-level reporting, including MBRs and QBRs
  • Create clear, structured presentations for senior stakeholders and leadership forums

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Commercial awareness, with understanding of business performance drivers and KPIs
  • Experience in programme or project coordination within a business or commercial environment
  • Capable in managing timelines, dependencies, and competing priorities
  • Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organisation
  • Ability to challenge constructively and drive accountability for delivery
  • Solid understanding of business strategy and organisational context

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Experience working within a strategy, planning, or transformation function
  • Exposure to commercial or sales environments
  • Familiarity with business planning cycles and governance frameworks
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders or leadership teams
