Job Description

Job Title: Head of Brand & Content

Location: Frimley or London, we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £90,000 + depending on experience plus executive benefits

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the development, evolution, and governance of BAE Systems’ brand and visual identity, aligning strategy with corporate objectives while managing brand reputation and stakeholder engagement across the organisation
  • Providing central coordination and leadership to ensure consistent, effective implementation of brand and visual identity across all platforms, sectors, and Lines of Business
  • Developing and owning the Group content strategy and calendar, aligning content with business objectives, target audiences, editorial standards, and brand guidelines while coordinating closely with cross-functional communications teams
  • Leading end-to-end content production workflows across multiple formats, ensuring quality, compliance, budget and timelines, while using analytics to optimise performance and drive effective distribution to key stakeholders
  • Building, leading and influencing the Group Brand & Content team and a curated roster of external agencies, setting priorities, defining roles, and fostering collaboration to deliver best-in-class content and campaign objectives
  • Overseeing content production infrastructure, including creative asset management systems and brand tools, while managing budgets and optimising resources across internal and external teams to maximise impact and efficiency

Your skills and experiences:

  • Expert knowledge of brand and content principles, techniques and skills, with proven experience in content creation and editorial management roles within content marketing
  • Holds high levels of creativity and innovative thinking to develop engaging and effective content
  • Significant experience in implementing and delivering content-led marketing campaigns/events/activities to budget, time and quality
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of identifying innovative solutions and navigating complex, international environments. Able to evaluate uncharted challenges and recommend strategies that drive impactful results beyond established procedures
  • Expert in influencing and persuading through clear, concise communication and diplomacy. Skilled at leading and inspiring teams, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and consistently delivering customer-focused outcomes
  • Degree and/or relevant professional certificate or equivalent experience

How would you shape the future of our content strategy? We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a brand-savvy, content-driven specialist to join the Group Marketing Communications team as the Head of Brand & Content at a really pivotal time in our brand journey.

In this high-impact, fast-paced role, you’ll shape and drive our brand across the UK and international markets. You’ll influence strategic content plans to boost stakeholder engagement, drive business growth, and enhance brand visibility. As a figurehead with strong brand and content principles, you’ll lead bold content initiatives, craft our brand narrative, and oversee content strategy. Confident in offering trusted counsel to senior leaders and making agile decisions, you’ll collaborate with teams and manage key agency relationships to ensure impactful global execution, all while supporting and shaping your team’s success.
