Job Description:

Satair is looking for a Compliance Solutions Specialist (Contract) to join our team in Herndon, Virginia.

In this role you will bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and operational data. This is not a traditional administrative compliance role; we need an investigator with natural curiosity who can leverage advanced data tools (Skywise, PowerBI, and AI) to ensure strict adherence to 19 CFR and global trade standards.

You will ensure Satair USA’s compliance with U.S. Customs regulations while building data models that automate audits, visualize risks, and streamline our aviation aftermarket supply chain.

The position requires extensive knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations including: HTSUS and ECCN classification, free trade agreements, country of origin requirements, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and all applicable U.S. Customs rules. You will report directly to the Head of Finance Americas.

Your Working Environment:

The Washington, D.C. metro area is home to multiple Airbus offices: In our nation’s capital you will find the Airbus Experience Center, a collection of interactive, multimedia exhibitions highlighting the extensive role the company plays in the aviation, aerospace and defense industries in the U.S. and around the world. The D.C. area is also home to our regional corporate headquarters - located adjacent to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) - it makes flying in a breeze!

2. Data Analytics & Business Intelligence (30%)

  • Data Mining: Utilize SQL and Skywise (Palantir) to extract supply chain data, identifying compliance gaps, cost-saving opportunities, and duty drawbacks.
  • Visualization: Design and maintain interactive PowerBI dashboards to translate complex customs data into clear narratives for senior leadership (tracking KPIs, entry timeliness, and accuracy).
  • Tech-Driven Compliance: Leverage advanced tools and AI/ML models to reconcile static regulatory requirements with dynamic operational data.

3. Process Automation & Optimization (30%)

  • Workflow Automation: Develop VBA macros and scripts to automate repetitive manual tasks, such as entry validation and duty calculation.
  • Data-First Auditing: Perform internal audits on import/export entries using a data-centric approach to detect anomalies and prevent penalties before they occur.
  • Cross-Functional Integrity: Collaborate with logistics and engineering teams to ensure master data integrity flows correctly across all systems.

4. Strategic Support & Projects (10%)

  • Support the Customs Manager in the development and implementation of high-level company initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
